Now THIS is a Janet album. My favourite alongside Rhythm Nation. I wasn't too big on janet and Velvet Rope has its moments. However most of her work after that I have to pick and choose certain tracks but haven't enjoyed her albums as a whole since VR.

Now admittedly I haven't heard her newest album. Will have to get around to it sometime.

you should definately check it out, you wont be disappointed.

Omg!!! I haven't heard this in a long ass time!!!! I love it so much. I remember hearing Control for the first time and just wearing it out! Damn near every song off of this album was a certified hit. It is one of the few albums I listen to and never skip a song. Actually Janet has 2 to 3 more albums like this. The whole concept just fit Janet to a T. I believe that's the reason it resonated with so many people especially young women. I saw someone say it would have been a great album for Cherelle. I totally disagree! Cherelle's story was different from Janet's. Therefore her Control album would have been very different from Janet's control album. Cherelle's was also never the dancer that Janet is. So her videos would not have had the effect that Janet's had. And those videos were a huge part of the Control package.

Was going to say that, cause he's more known, but John singleton also did a lot in the early 90s and has a history with Janet and with mj for remember the time.

Yep, he would seem the obvious choice since he directed Poetic Justice. wink

The '80s pop duo Boy Meets Girl wrote "How Will I Know" for the CONTROL project, but when Janet's people turned it down, they gave it to Whitney. Their one and only hit, "Waiting for a Star to Fall", is one of my favorite songs...

Me too! It makes me giddy with happiness lol

I'm glad she didn't do How Will I Know. The lyrics are cringe-inducing. Whitney's video for it was super cute and it's catchy but no, just no.

Used to go to dinner almost every night
Dancin' 'til I thought I'd lose my breath
mad AHH!
Now it seems your dancing feet are always on my couch
Good thing I cook or else we'd starve to death
Ain't that a shame?

Go get a girl and get soft and warm,
Don't get excited, you've been invited to a quiet storm
But now it's out of hand cuz you told me you hate me
And then you ask what have I done lately
First you said all you want is love and affection
Let me be your angel and I'll be your protection
Take you out, buy you all kinds of things
I must of got you too hot and burned off your wings
You caught an attitude, you need food to eat up
I'm scheming like I'm dreaming on a couch wit my feet up
You scream I'm lazy, you must be crazy
Thought I was a donut, you tried to glaze me
