Anti and Work on The Billboard Charts

Rihanna is putting in “Work” on the charts. The pop superstar blasts onto Billboard this week with her eighth album ANTI and lead single.

The Drake-assisted song enters at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, with 126,000 downloads sold. As a result, “Work” becomes RiRi’s 27th top 10 hit and 50th Hot 100 entry.

She now ties Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, and Elton John for the fifth-most top 10s in the history of the chart, reports Billboard. Meanwhile, Drake earns his 15th top 10 hit with “Work.”

As for the album, the RIAA has certified it platinum after hitting one million downloads. According to TIDAL, which exclusively premiered ANTI, there have been 484,833 paid downloads, in addition to the one million given away as part of the Samsung promotion.

The album has been streamed nearly 14 million times through TIDAL.

it's a good album... consideration, james joint, kiss it better, desperado, needed me, yeah I said it, Same Ol' mistakes, never ending, close to you - these are all solid tracks, some of them are even great.

Its her best in terms of quality, creativity, lyrics, and artistry. Some of the songs on the album are pretty risky for an artist of her calibar. Same Ol Mistakes is something I would expect from Janelle Monae. I'm proud of her and I don't impress easily...

Shame this album is not getting its just do, its such a great album.

Turns out that's a remake of a song by an Aussie group called Tame Impala...

Even though Rihanna's cover is so similar to the original, it wasn't till the end of the song that I realised it didn't just sound like a familiar song but was in fact a cover of one of my favourite songs from last year. So unexpected!

This album is really great - there isn't one song I don't like. It's a shame that the focus is all on beyonce right now.

There were people who liked the song when it initially came out but I find it funny how it seems now that the album doesn't have the song, people like it. Personally I didn't like the song but I'm glad it (and the other singles Rihanna had last year) isn't featured on Anti. They would have clashed loudly with the vibe and sound of the album had they been included.

As if her albums have a cohesive vision or dominant sound Christ, tack it on as a bonus at least. SOME edition, deluxe, better have it. One of her biggest songs and it's not on anything!

Well her dumb album got pushed back a kajillion times.

I really tried but Im not sure what to make of this album? Probably should listen to it outside of Tidal? Its very edgy in parts....but not too commercial?

First 8 dates of Anti Tour moved to back end of tour due to production delays ticket sales.

Shes so much better than Beyonce, there I said it! I don't care if her tour sells out, its a great album. If she keeps going in this direction, I might actually start taking her more seriously as an artist.

The only bad thing about this album is it's timing. It took Riri long enough to drop the album as is. Then you have Beyonce's song and SB performance as well as Kanye and Taylor Swift's stupid "beef" taking the spotlight and killing almost any momentum this album could've had. Backing out of her Grammy performance certainly didn't help either. Riri's popularity has declined since 2012/13 with Anti being her lowest charting album but now apparently her starpower is so low that she can't even put butts in seats (at least as fast) as she used too. Not to mention Riri had to cheat in order for her album to go platinum. Things aren't going well for her right now and it's a shame that all this is happening with the release of her most cohesive and intriguing project.

I don't think it has anything to do with star power per se. She hasn't been promoting the tour imho. I agree her popularity has declined some what but imo there is still geniune interest in her.

I think it is silly that the Florence + The Machine sampled perfume commercial is a bonus track, but "FourFiveSeconds" and "BBHMM" aren't.

This one does.

I listened, and you're right! Totally smoked out, and reminds me of Boards Of Canada in some parts ("Same Ol' Mistakes").

I still think her 2015 radio hits should have appeared as bonus tracks.
