Sinead O’Connor Threatens Suicide on Facebook

Sinead O’Connor allegedly posted a troubling note on Facebook over the Thanksgiving weekend, writing “I have taken an overdose” in a long post.

The emotional message appeared on her verified Facebook page early Sunday, though there is no way of telling if the musician actually penned the note.

In it, she allegedly laments over a family battle, blasting a “horrific set of betrayals” on the part of her husband, children and more.

“The last two nights finished me off,” reads the post. “I have taken an overdose. There is no other way to get respect. I am not at home, I’m at a hotel, somewhere in ireland, under another name."

Dublin police, however, have apparently confirmed that O’Connor is “safe and sound,” and is receiving medial attention.

O’Connor has a history of posting alarming updates on her social media, and had posted a few in the past couple of days. She has claimed that Irish folk musician Donal Lunny, the father of her youngest son, Shane, won’t let her see her son, among other troubles.

O’Connor allegedly writes that she’s been “howling crying for weeks. And been told by them all to go f–k myself. I’m invisible. I don’t matter a shred to anyone.” She is married to Barry Herridge and has four children, ranging in age from 9 to 28.

A rep for the singer could not immediately be reached.

Posting family problems on Social Media....Not good. (Especially for the children).

This situation sounds like it originates from her and no fun for anyone involved. She doesn't realize that as a parent, it is her job to love and nuture her children. If they are telling her to go fuck herself, she has likely pushed her family away repeatedly with her hurtful words or actions. I hope she is in a hospital and getting something that will make her accountable for her own emotions (nothing that a fanbase would do), and probably some meds.

You know, I'm glad she posted on Facebook Vs killing herself in silence. An Ex-coworker of mine did not know her husband was deeply depressed, he kept it silent. One morning she went to work, her brother-in-law stopped by the house and found her husband hanging from the 2nd floor. That poor guy suffered in silence and (to my knowledge) she still does not know what went wrong or what he was battling. Sinead is reaching out for help and I Pray that someone helps her.

^Yes, I have a similar story from a job I had a few years ago. I got a phone call one morning saying an somebody had hung himself. He was always a very busy guy, working at the company and having a business of his own and had just divorced. Maybe because working so much left him with no time to be with his wife. I'm guessing because we knew next to nothing of his personal life except that he was married. So this came as a big surprise.

Yep! thats a definite cry for help indeed. I don't think anybody in her position - manic depressive - to think about whats appropriate or orthodox. Hurt people don't think about logic or common sense until later. I do hope her peace of mind.

This whole story makes me really sad. Have a family member with borderline personality disorder (similar to bipolar with sharper swings and a procvlitity for lying), and everytime Sinead goes into one of these downswings, reminds me so much of things said family member posts. And whether bipolar or borderline, they're both hard to treat and the medication has brutal side effects.

Sinead O'Connor's Facebook Page Taken Down After Second Suicide Threat confused
Dec 02, 2016
Link

Sinead O'Connor's verified Facebook page was taken down Wednesday following a string of emotional posts.

The page had been an outlet for the Irish singer to vent her anger at friends and family who she accuses of "a horrific set of betrayals."

In another post, possibly written from a hospital on Tuesday, O'Connor says that her oldest children Jake Reynolds, 28, and Roisin Waters, 19, visited her while she was on "life support" but left before she woke.

"You haven't been back. Please why are you doing these things to me??" O'Connor, 48, wrote on her wall. "I need you. I need your love. I can't manage what's being done to me. I didn't do anything to deserve the way I'm being treated.

"To hear that you were here and left was agony," the post continues. "Now I am utterly alone. Please. Please love me. Please come to the hospital and spend time with me and help Fix all this. Please. I'm. Begging you.

"Don't leave me so frightened and alone. Don't treat me like I'm not loved and am worth nothing. Please. If you love me even a little please come and be with me and help me understand what's happening.

"I didn't even have any clothes. I haven't a thing. Please. Jake, Roisin. All, please, come see me and make me feel like M loved. Help me instead of punishment. Please please I beg you come see me and help."

A chilling final post appearing to threaten suicide appeared shortly before the page shut down Wednesday.

"If a woman doesn't first succeed... She'll try, try again," a screenshot of the post reads. "iWantMyRightToDieAndIWillClaimIt."

Jesus, take the wheel and the brake pedal. She surely is suicidal. I don't really believe the part about "I didn't do anything to deserve the way I'm being treated" but she is surely in an especially rough patch at the moment.

This saddens me. Mental illness is really horrific, and there is still such poor understanding of it in our society.
No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

Sex is not love. Love is not sex. Putting words in other people's mouths will only get you elected.
