Who Are The Best Pedal Steel Guitarists?

I'm trying to expand on that side, love the sound and find it very hypnotic. So far, I only came across Jerry Byrd.

Anybody have more suggestions?

I'm not that familiar with it, but I like Christoph Hahn from Swans.

When I saw them live he played right in front of me and I though he was great.

I totally love Ben Keith's steel playing with Neil Young. He's on the albums Harvest, Tonight's The Night, On The Beach, Harvest Moon, Old Ways, Silver & Gold and a few others.

Check out the song "Albuquerque".

Prince plays 27 instruments. Pedal Steel Guitar has to be one of them, right?

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Thanks for the info, guys. I recognize that its sort of an obscure style of music - at least in comparision to the stuff discussed here - but I've always been gravitated toward that instrument and I was hoping for some recommendations.

I've been doing my own research in the meantime though, so I'm not being lazy smile
