Family Affair Sly and The Family Stone song

It's a great song in my mind, the very depressin sound, his deep voice and of course great lyrics about disfunctional families. Bouyt what does he say " both kids are good to mom" or "both kids good and wrong"?. One of their best songs, perhaps their best.

"Both kids are good to mom-bloods thicker than the mud- its a family affair" Sly always told the truth!

I've heard that, but it doesn't sound like it.

CoolMF

Anyone remember, about 2 years ago (I think), when the Amazon box set came out with the accompanying videos on YouTube of the whole band, minus Larry, reliving some of the songs while seated around the soundboard?

Anyway, there's one where they're talking about Family Affair and either Sly or Freddie plays with some nobs on the board to bring up additional guitar and "other instruments" (I'll go with that term since my memory's fuzzy and I only saw the video one time) over an extended instrumental of the song.

Sorry, but this thread made me think of that.

Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...
