What was the last album that made you go... ... Oh wow, this is crazy, this is fantastic, I've never heared ANYthing like this!!!!! In my case, it's been so long that I really don't remember. I like a lot of music, but the last time an album really hit me... I dunno... Maybe somebody here knows something...

Well, I have to go way back to Amy Winehouse - Back to Black. Sad, but true.
Not to say that I haven't bought a few really good albums, but BTB blew me away.

Prince: Dirty Mind. I've not been a Prince fan all that long, so when I heard this, start to finish, I went "Wow". It's just so good. Completely unlike the music I was raised on. Non Prince - D'angelo: Black Messiah. I've always loved D'Angelo. Well, ever since THAT video. Even though I was too young to be having those kind of thoughts I used to 'borrow' my sisters Voodoo album and just listen to Untitled on repeat. But the first time I listened to one of his albums , and not just one song from Voodoo, was Black Messiah. Again, just so different from anything I hear on MTV.

I don't really get into like instrumental/jam music but I was blown away by "Awake" by Tycho.

'Tusk' by Fleetwood Mac: a meandering and completely incoherent album of twenty songs, only two of which break the five-minute mark. It shouldn't work. It should be boring. But somehow it manages to be brilliant.

That's really difficult to say. But, since 2000, a handful of albums come to mind in the "haven't heard anything quite like this" category: Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016
