Good for them for continuing to perform for many years, I'll definitely support it. I saw them at their tour opening night a few years ago, and I'm glad I didn't let the grief of losing mj or media or negativity of fans influence take away from how much their music inspired me and made me feel. I understand the anger and they can't turn back time, but someone brought up a good point about some not getting rewarded till much later on, including big artists that are white. Even madonna was not rewarded at the grammys aside from 1 or 2 until she won tons for Ray of Light much later than her 80's peak in populairty.

That's true Madonna have never been a favourite to the Grammys i do not know why, cause Like A Prayer (the song) deserved it one for Song of the Year or Record of the Year, and the album itself deserved it aswell

I don't think Duran Duran's discography takes away from J5's at all!

Duran had a much bigger influence on MTV's early days than the Jacksons. Obviously, the Victory album didn't have MJ's full involvement and the video for Torture is awful. Comparing discographies without the initial 4 No.1s by the J5 in 1969, it's debatable who had a better discography.

Agree!

What exactly does Duran Duran have to do with the fact J5 deserved grammys? lol

That poster just loves to bash Michael for some reason. The Grammys are full of politics and always been.

But its pointless though because regardless J5 deserves to be in the RHOF. They BOTH deserve to be in the RHOF. It takes nothing away from J5 or Duran Duran. Considering the RHOF snubs a lot of black artists Duran Duran will eventually get inducted and be okay. I find it more alarming that there are more black artists that get snubbed by the RHOF.

Its the truth though. He had the nerve to point out Duran Duran when black bands and artist like WAR and Whitney Houston are not even it it. rolleyes They have been slighting black artists since the beginning of time. Before we talk about Duran Duran, lets talk about THEM! Hell it took Donna Summers death for them to finally induct her after countless years of snubbing her so Bye Felicia with the Duran Duran bullshit. Its just another argument for that crazed MJ hater to use against MJ. lol I must admit they are on a roll!

That isn't what I was insinuating. I was trying to say that the Jacksons should be happy they were immortalized when they were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. Many acts such as Duran Duran haven't even received such an honor eventhough they've contributed as much to music and more to music videos. Both acts deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.

On top of that, a Grammy award lost it's lustre after Milli Vanilli won two in 1990. The awards became a joke after that fiasco. And if a shitty artist like Kanye West can win 21 Grammys sampling music, the Grammys mean nothing anymore.

Whitney Houston has never written a song in her illustrious career. Duran wrote every one of their songs. This is a classic example of

And MJ wasn't even really a part of the Jacksons since Triumph. He wasn't involve much with Victory, wasn't even in the Torture video so the brothers had to use an MJ mannequin in the video as a substiution.

Me too - I totally agree that the Grammy's are a joke. It's sad really as I used to live and die for them when I was younger. Now, I just don't give a fu*k.

Beyonce, Kanye, Alicia, Jay Z all have over 20 something Grammys while James Brown and Marvin Gaye only have one and Diana Ross has 0. That lets me know that it is a joke!!!

"I Can't Help It" is quite possibly the best song that Michael ever recorded....it's so damn soulful!! After all these decades, this song still knocks me out!! Wow!!

I just listened to this album today for the first time in years.

Get On the Floor is tight. You can hear Louis Johnson poppin those bass strings.

I Can't Help It is a nice song and Grover Washington's jazz rendition of it is nice too.
