I'm grateful for:

a) No obvious pornographic muzak tracks, based on titles.

b) No features beyond J. Cole and Missy, both of whom I can tolerate.

I’ve looked at the album cover so much and I’ve tried to like it, but she looks so old in the pic. How is she going to attract a younger audience?

Let’s not even get started on the album title.

Let's hope it doesn't turn to be as jinxed an album title as brother's Invincible

eek Huh? In what way does she look old? Completely disagree, she's gorgeous. It's a very youthful and classy look, something the folks now should take serious notes on.

'Conversations in a cafe' sounded so intriguing, a bit left field sounding. There is even a few 'Conversations' references in the press release about the new album.

Some idiot like Gil must have convinced her that 'Unbreakable' sounded fiercer.

Based on what we've heard of the new songs and some song titles, this looks like its going to be quite inspirational in theme. A change that many of her fans wanted for years. It's funny that now that she appears to be doing material that could be more mature, people are wanting the sexy Janet back. I'm like, make up your mind lol

-

Besides, almost evvvvverybody is trying to be the sexy artist she was over 20 years ago. She's been there done that.

-

As far as the features are concerned, I like J. Cole in general but his verse was "aight" in "No Sleeep". Didn't move me much, but wasn't turned off by it either. I was hoping Kendrick Lamar would've been featured somewhere on the album but he probably shot his chances once he did the Taylor Swift record. I could be wrong.

Really? What makes her look old? I mean its not like she has wrinkles and gray hair everywhere. lol

-

I too perferred the "Conversations" title but after hearing the song, "Unbreakable" I can appreciate both the song and theme of the album better.

The facial expression is harsh and not youthful. You don't only need wrinkles to look old.

What is America's issue with age? She looks like a 49 year-old woman because she's a 49 year-old woman. She's acting and looking her age like every grown person should. Janet's core audience isn't even young people so why should she try to appeal to them? The ageism in this world is just ridiculous.

She isn't going to attract a younger audience because she's 49, her last smash single was in 2001 and she won't receive airplay on stations people under 40 listen to. The airplay on adult urban is a positive though I think they'll play any decent slow jam by a veteran artist. I can't imagine her looking any more amazing than she does at 49.

She's keeping it real, staying true to the theme, can't fault her for that. There were nicer pics in the shoot but this works as well smile she looks like a goddess

This is whats wrong with percception of music. She has nothing to prove, why she got to be attrating the youth, they got Miley Cyrus and stuff please leave them out of this.

I have to respectively disagree or admit to not seeing anything harsh about the shot. To me I see someone who's holding their hair back and head up for all to finally see (considering the long hiatus). No heavy make up like "All For You" or head tilted downward in deep contemplation or depression as in "The Velvet Rope". There are both strength and vulnerability elements to this cover as well.

-

Although I can admit to missing seeing the toned abs, the tight fitting pants or anything that highlights that glorious round ass of hers. (Sidenote: before Ms. Lopez, Kardashian, Minaj, or whomever else was worshipped for their rear profile, there was Ms. Jackson). Point being, she's been there... done that.

-

I think she would look foolish trying to compete with the students she's taught throughout the decades through her discography, dance, videography, tours, fashion trends, etc.

-

She's made the calculated decision to go against the grain by staying true to where she is today versus trying to compete with those she inspired yesterday.

She looks SEXY! I agree. The album title SUCKS!!!!! Must be a Jackson thing. They all go 4 those horrible one-word, generic titles. I think a nice title would have been "Plush." It's written on the glass in the "No Sleeep" vid. But hey...she knows what she's doin'! smile

I think there will still be segues but not tracked separately. I don't think a rainstorm appears out of nowhere, for instance, on the intro to "No Sleeep" biggrin

I don't think J.Cole adds anything substantial to "No Sleeep". I prefer the version without him. But I'm very excited about this album. Its overdue.

eek

I'm quite sure most fans care more about the quality of the album versus
attracting younger fans. I see a beautiful Janet that is aging gracefully.
Also please explain the indirect correlation between the title of Janet's
album and a MJ song of the same name on his final studio album that has a
few in an uproar. lol

This will easily be her best album since The Velvet Rope!

I knew she had it in her.

Janet Misses Grammy Deadline on purpose! New Album 'Unbreakable Due October,2

Janet Jackson is “Unbreakable” but she will also be un-awardable. Interesting. Janet releases her new album “Unbreakable” on October 2nd. The deadline for Grammy eligibility is September 30th. So only Janet’s “No Sleeep” single will make the Grammy deadline.

So what’s going on here? For some reason, Janet and her team are opting out of the Grammys. I’m surprised. They had a good shot at Best R&B album nominations. My guess is they’ll go for a performance on the American Music Awards in November. That would preclude them from a Grammy performance anyway.

Missy Elliot (formerly Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliot), one of the coolest people in the world, is a guest star, as is the ubiquitous J Cole.

I'm so with Janet on this! They basically blackmailed her! They disinvited her from The Grammy's. It wasn't even that serious. Kudos to Janet for giving them the finger. One good thing Jermaine Dupre' did was resign himself from the Grammy board in protest for her. I will always respect him for that. I always felt The Grammy's NEVER acknowledged her properly anyway

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince
