confuse Ya know, it may have only ever been the title of an interlude track, not the album.

That's been my thought as well. I don't think anyone ever said it was the title.

Reminds me of Lauryn Hill's "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" theme. Throughout the album they kept going back to the classroom setting, continuing the theme of education. Maybe they'll refer back to literal recorded conversations for the album tackling the various subject matters Kathy Ireland mentioned awhile back.

-

Of course she's done album themes numerous times before, but Lauryn's "MEOLH" kind of reminds me of what "CIAC" MIGHT sound like except with adults.

It was never confirmed. People just got it in their minds that that would be the name of the album, but it'll probably be an interlude. I do think that CONVERSATIONS would have made a killer album title, though.

Having heard most of the album's new tracks... Don't expect a Rhythm Nation or a Velvet Rope. I'd say more like a Damita Jo, in terms of overall consistant quality. Which, TBH, I'm happy with. You'll definitly compare certain aspects to previous albums though. That's all I'll say for now. There isn't much longer to wait.

I thought Damita Jo was very underrated, and quite enjoyable. As an album, I actually liked it more than All For You. It just seemed to be missing that big smash. I hope this album will have at least one.

I really hope their "I've been listening" theme ties in well with the new project. As of now, I think the "cafe" is social media. But I guess we'll see what it all suppose to mean whenever the album drops. They've done a masterful job in generating anticipation and interest in another Janet Jackson album again. So, kudos for that. My hope now is that the music makes it all worth the wait.

This is an old tweet. I posted it to show that "Conversations in a Cafe" was the original album title. In addition, Janet and some of her music associates/ engineers were hash tagging it on twitter in May, it wasn't that long ago. I wonder why she changed it.

I think regardless overall people are interested in seeing her. Whether via interview, movie, performance etc because she has been out of the spotlight for some time but Janet has always been like this even during her peak in the 90's. Its the oldest Jackson trick in the book and it always works. Some of the newer stars should take some notes. It is not good to overexposed yourself in the spotlight it eventually backfires.

that was never the title, fans assumed it was the title because of their hashtags. janet, jimmy and gil still continue to use that hashtag even though its been confirmed the title is unbreakable. i guess we will find out what it means soon.

I listen to Damita Jo more than any album after 1993's janet.

I kinda think janet. is the template for lighter subject matter and post-funk fare.

I personally think that was the original title (or at least Conversations was an original title idea) of course this is pure speculation but that is my opinion on it. She also mentioned conversations when she told the world she would be releasing new music. Its possible the title changed then again its possible it was never the title, nothing wrong with speculating and discussing it though. Just because it wasn't confirmed doesn't mean people can't speculate or give opinions on it. It will be interesting to see how the "conversations" theme is linked to her "unbreakable" theme which consist of her feelings on marriage, love, fans, and family.

The 'Conversations In A Cafe" thing stemmed from when she met some fans in a Cafe in Paris a couple of years ago. This wasa when she first started working on new music - before teaming up witth Jam & Lewis again.

of course there is nothing wrong with speculating, thats what these forums are for. the 'unbreakable' thing has actually been around before 'conversations'. some fans found a link saying janet had the word 'unbreakable' copy righted last year, it was speculated she was using it for some type of brand venture, nobody knew she was putting out a new album. i wanted the title to be conversations in a cafe, but im ok with unbreakable after the theme was explained.

Its been known she has been working on a new album for over the last 3 years now. Even one of her engineers came out and insisted he had been workin with Janet a couple of years back. I agree I like the Conversations title way better and still don't particularly care for Unbreakable which automatically makes me think of mj but I love the Great Forever snippet.
