Madonna's dancers "go on strike" following "diva behaviour" and low pay

Just saw this on Yahoo. Her dancers are apparently being treated like shit by her and not paid well either. I expect the Madonna Mafia to run to her defence as usual, but she seems like a warped egotist to me. Like Donald Trump with a record contract. Plus, I find the money-hoarding ways of these superstars to be pretty foolish spiritually and morally, but anyway....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s hardly news to be accusing Madonna of being a diva – didn’t she basically invent the idea? However there are fresh claims being made today that her behavior during rehearsals for her upcoming tour has been so bad that people are walking out.

image

The 56-year-old’s Rebel Heart tour kicks off September 9 and it would seem the pressure is getting to Madge who has reportedly been working her dancers to the point where they have basically gone on strike.

“On Monday night, the dancers declared mutiny on Madonna because she is working them way too hard,” a ‘source’ told Radaronline.

Gawd – it’s all very London Underground, isn’t it?

“One dancer even went so far as to take off his credentials, throw it in her face and say, ‘F*ck you. I quit!’ She had to call security to protect her and escort her remaining dancers out.”

image

“On another occasion, one of her dancers broke her arm during rehearsals and instead of showing concern, Madonna had a nuclear meltdown,” the insider claimed.

What’s more, “Everyone is required to wear black head-to-toe at all times and she has said, in her own words, that there are ‘no fat c*nts allowed in her presence.‘”

Luckily, black is very slimming.

image

“Madonna seems to expect everyone to drop every other project that they are working on to cater to her and make her tour their only priority in life,” the source went on (and on).

Tbf, dancing for Madonna is surely one of the best gigs so we were suitably shocked to hear that it’s apparently pretty horribly paid:

“The problem is that she does not pay very well, but she knows that people that she hires will work countless hours at less than premium wage because she is Madonna.”

The source added, “Her ego is so over-inflated and she thinks that her staff are lucky to be in her presence.”

So by the sounds of things she’s not the type of celeb you would call particularly ‘down to earth’.

Why would one agree to dance with Madonna if she pays so low only to go on strike? Such nonsense though I hope the "no fat cunts" part is true. She's a fitness inspiration and I agree with her having no time for laziness

Jesus, sounds like her fans are every bit as evil as she is. Sorry, but banishing overweight people from her presence and describing them as "fat cunts" would not be a praiseworthy thing to anyone with any decency about them.

Don't know if it's true or not of course, but it certainly says a lot about you that you would respect that.

Oh please. I lost over 130 pounds. I'm fit as ever. I don't take it personally. As someone who used to struggle with weight I can say that we tend to make excuses for ourselves and our destructive bahviour. Once you move past that and get your life in check and hold yourself accountable you become a better person.
I respect Madonna as someone who takes no shit from others and doesn't tolerate lazimess. She's no spring chicken but she doesn't let her age hinder her putting on a great physically grueling show.

You may have been fat because of your lifestyle, but that's not true in all cases. Many people have different metabolisms. And even with the people who are overeating or not exercising enough you have to ask what psychological factors are in play there.

And whatever you think, they still have hearts and are the same on the inside as you. I'm assuming that you are gay, so I should hardly need to tell you that there are ignorant people out there who stigmatize gays in exactly the same way as you are stigmatizing overweight people.

Well since we are talking about Madonnas comments, the context of the article is that of Madonna having no time for slackers. "Fat cunts" is likely a metaphor for that and not the most politically correct. Madonna is certainly not against fat people. In fact it's well documented that she stood up for Adele when Karl Largerfeld had a go at her because of her weight. Not to mention being close friends with Rosie O'Donnell for over 2 decades.
People want to paint her as this evil racist fataphobe cunt. But she can be a bitch by her own admission when it comes to getting a job done and doing it WELL.
So if we are to believe everything in this article than I personally see nothing wrong with her behviour. She's madonna. Like Prince or like any icon. If you're lucky enough to work for them than prepare to sweat because it won't be your typical 9 to 5 job.

Right there is your problem. You seem to think if someone is an "icon", then they should have licence to be assholes. I don't agree with that. These "icons" still have to shit and piss just like anyone else. The word icon has always made me cringe largely for this reason. They are people. No more, no less.

Well, if you don't want "diva behaviour"... you can guess the guess the rest... lol

As immensely as I respect Madonna for her career achievements, she sounds like the kind of person I'd have stayed well away from if I'd ever had a high-profile/successful music career.

I'm generally a believer in the idea that being an "icon" comes with the responsibility of setting good moral examples to others. That doesn't sound like her strong point, really.

I would say that Madonna sets a good moral example in that she is a responsible mother, works hard, has never been arrested, committed any violent crimes, never been involved with illegal drugs or excessive drinking.

I agree you should treat people you work with fairly. But I think the image of Madonna as this horrible person to work with is kind of urban myth and tabloid rumor. Many of the dancers and musicians work with her on tour after tour so if she's that bad they wouldn't keep coming back.

She works really hard and holds to high standards and she expects the same from people that work for her, but I don't think she is cruel or anything.

But women are always considered bitchy if they are strong bosses, whereas men are just being professional.

Waiting for SoulAlive to,defend her in 3,2,1....

But while we were doing a shoot in the same area as she is rehearsing in Brooklyn I did see a few of her dancers dressed in all black like the omen.

“On another occasion, one of her dancers broke her arm during rehearsals and instead of showing concern, Madonna had a nuclear meltdown,” the insider claimed. "Why are your bones so weak?! You need more CALCIUM in your diet, BITCH!!!" the horrific wench bellowed at the poor girl dancer as she writhed in agony on the dance floor. To make matters worse, Madonna would not allow medics to enter her "Sanctuary" to render care for the girl. A few of the dancers defied Madonna's orders to leave the girl on the floor, and dragged her by her ankles to the waiting medics. Madonna just pierced them with a death stare. They knew their careers were over.

falloff I gotta say....this is some hilarious stuff they made up lol

To be honest, after the public reaction that I've seen towards "Bitch, I'm Madonna", Madonna needs to try humility. The other way ain't working. lol

Err, yeah, which is why I spoke in the plural not the singular. Madonna is not the only one who needs a reality check. Prince would certainly be a fine example too.

Never heared any stories about his rehearsals that go on for 20 hours? I doubt if this broken arm story is true and if Madonna is any worse than good old Prince. Or James Brown...

TBH her gay fans are insanely crazy people. Madonna could admit to creating the Ebola virus and starting world hunger. While having live video recordings of her burning children's toys for fun and entertainment. And they would still defend her cause she's ''queen'' her & Beyawnce got their fans on some Eyes Wide Shut shit.

I have no idea what the going-pay for a Dancer touring with the likes of Madge or J-Lo or Mariah....The Professional Dancers on Dancing with the Stars get around $5,000 an episode and the rate goes higher if they don't get voted off...If Madge's tour has about 25 Dancers they're prolly getting paid $2,000 per tour-date...Madge is a Corporation and she's paying EVERYBODY behind the scenes..We don't know what is or isnt considered fair pay...Just becuz Madge is Filthy Rich doesnt mean she's generous like Mighty Oprah..Oprah gave the Janitorial crew that cleans her Company building $10,000 a piece just-becuz...

However we all know Madge is a bitch so it's not exactly shocking. The older she gets the more she reminds me of Bette Davies. lol
