Grace Jones - Slave To The Rhythm (30th Anniversary Funkysoul Mix)

I thought it would be nice to give this classic a bit of the remix treatment for its 30th Anniversary. My intention was to strip back the standard Trevor Horn production and make it more like the sound she pioneered with Sly & Robbie during her first 3 albums. Not a radical change, but it brings out a bit more of the funk, while emphasising the soul with the lovely unused background vocals. Ladies and gentlemen... Miss Grace Jones.

What did you want to be when you were seventeen?"
"Not bored."
"And what was the first thing you did to alter that situation of being bored?"
"I floated on a cloud."
"Like we all do I suppose?"
"Not all of us."
"And then what happened?"
"The lucky ones."
"And then what happened? You fell off the cloud?"
"I don’t think I ever came down from that cloud. It was wonderful."

Love that album, still have it on vinyl.I'd love to see her show.
