Yes.......Dre won't ever release Detox, he simply didn't like the final product so he scrapped it.

Dr. Dre: “My Record Collection Is Gone”

Do you still have a record collection or is it all in a warehouse somewhere?

The record collection is gone now. I had a warehouse full of albums and I contemplated getting rid of it for at least two years before I did it. I wasn’t really using it anymore. It was just sitting there as another bill for storage. 80,000 albums.

Sold or gave away?

Both. What I did was just went through and jotted down everything I was in love with so I could order it [later].

What are three of those records you wrote down?

I didn’t keep em for sampling purposes. Curtis Mayfield’s “Superfly” a Barry White’s Greatest Hits… a gray album and everything else on it was black.

Dr. Dre's first new album in 16 years will make its debut on Apple Music's Beats 1 radio, the company announced Tuesday afternoon (Aug. 4).

Compton: A Soundtrack will stream exclusively on Apple Music from 6 to 9 p.m. PT on Thursday prior to the album's wide release on Friday. The legendary producer said on his Beats 1 show last week: "[The album is] going to be my grand finale.

NUMBERS WITH ALTITUDE: DRE'S COMPTON BLOWS UP IN PREORDER
-

Compton is coming on strong. Just two days after Dr. Dre announced the existence of his inspired by-soundtrack to the wildly buzzing N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton(due 8/14), the star-studded Aftermath/Interscope set, Compton, A Soundtrack, is making mad stacks in preorder ahead of its 8/7 release. It will be an Apple exclusive, at least initially.

-

Preliminary numbers suggest a 300k first week or bigger, and that's a week before the movie hits 3k screens and becomes a massive topic of pop-cultural conversation.

-

Do we need to remind you about a little ditty from 1988 called "Fuck tha Police," and how much it resonates in the moment? Not to mention the backstory of how a tech gazillionaire/revered producer and his bandmate, the current star of top-grossing family comedies, once terrified the establishment?

-

How big will this one get? Will it become a juggernaut akin to Taylor Swift's 1989 and help the biz make its year? Will it have radio hits? Our crystal balls are currently deflated, but we know this thing is big—and we look forward to finding out just how big.

-

Dre made his announcement Saturday on The Pharmacy, his widely acclaimed show on Apple's Beats 1 radio. Compton reunites Dre with N.W.A colleague Ice Cube as well as Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Xzibit, among others.

There will be. Just like Beyonce's self titled release was digital only at first. I don't think Dr. Dre is THAT far up Apple's .. offices.

I'm not an expert on LA, but Compton looks like it has a lot of parks and large mansions in this album cover picture doesn't it?

I guess it's supposed to be the Hollywood sign, but down below is that actually just Hollywood/Beverly Hills and not Compton?

Dr Dre has announced that he will be donating all of the royalties he earns from 'Compton,' the pioneering gangsta rapper's long-awaited new album, to help fund a new arts and entertainment facility in Compton.

"I feel it's the right thing to do and I hope everybody appreciates the work I put into this album," Dre says
