Keith Richards will release Crosseyed Heart this September -- his first solo album since 1992’s Main Offender and only his third career solo studio effort.

The 15-track album will encompass “reggae, rock, country and the blues,” according to a statement from Richard’s rep.

Like Main Offender and his first solo record, 1988’s Talk Is Cheap, Richards will be joined by Steve Jordan, who produced the first two efforts, as well as veteran session guitarist Waddy Wachtel and keyboardist Ivan Neville.

We’ll get our first taste of Crosseyed Heart next week, when the first single, titled “Trouble,” premieres.

Look for the full album September 18 on Republic Records.

I liked Talk Is Cheap, but it was such a shame that he had Bootsy and Maceo on only one song.

Nice. Sounds exactly like you'd expect Keef to sound. Play this in a bar and everybody will have good ole time and the beer will flow freely.

When I listen to this all I can think

One imagines at the end of that we cut back to the studio, where a young actor tells a chat show host and audience how it actually took over 8 hours in make-up to transform him into Keeflar the guitar-playing Underworld Orc, and then recounts an amusing annecdote about how he once stepped off the set halfway through a scene and went outside for a cig, scaring some young children half to death in the process.

Dunno. There's a likeable honesty to Keef's vocals that works in this sort of setting, I think. Mick's all drama and bluster, these days, and his affected Country twang can grate a little.

Yes! Keef is a great singer! Better than the Careys and Houstons that keep ruining this forum. Just trying to keep this thread alive ya'll! And the blues!

Keith Richards has premiered a second new solo song online as part of the recently launched promotional campaign for Crosseyed Heart.

The new tune, called "Substantial Damage," began streaming at CrosseyedHeart.com after a temporary commemorative plaque was unveiled at 33 Chastilian Rd. in Dartford, just outside of London, where the Rolling Stones guitarist lived when he was a baby. (ABC News)
