No but I'll definitely take Janet over the likes of Usher, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, and Justin Bieber.

Janet is in a lane of her own. Michael paved a path for himself that we shouldn't compare anyone else to. His influence on popular culture and music is far more pervasive and overarching than Janet's, and that's no slight towards her at all. She's certainly done well for herself, but there's just no comparison.

Careful. You're in for an argument there, wait for the Janet stans.

She is a much better contender for the Queen of Pop title than Madonna imo. The main reason it's bestowed upon the latter is the fact she had more hits, popularity, and longevity in general. Me thinks so, anyways. Madonna ain't bad, though.

Okay, for the final time--MJ is MJ, Prince is Prince, Madonna is Madonna, and Janet is Janet. All these people were around when I was young and I didn't see the comparisons for some kind of "throne" that I see today... Is the music scene that dried up and desperate that these icons from the past have to be used as some competitive standard now that they didn't have before? Wow, if that's true, then that is just sad. And telling...

First things first. That is a beautiful pic of Janet!

Secondly this is obviously a troll thread if I ever saw one.

And thirdly to the thread starter are you upset because of the recent headlines Janet made concerning her return to music?
Janet has never branded herself the King or Queen of anything. She left shit like that for her brother, Madonna, and Beyonce to do. She has always been humbled by her success. Unlike so many others. That's one of the reasons I fucks with Janet. Janet is Janet. She doesn't need a title to make herself feel important.

Yes, the music scene is that dried up. They have no real superstars today. Its all about the brand nowadays. People love to put Janet up against her brother. Which I think is truly fucked up because Janet was inspired and empowered by her brother. She has said many times that he is/was a genius.Janet never claimed to be better than Mj or for that matter anybody else. Janet does Janet!

That's because other fonts always find there way in here to do so. Look at the title off the thread. When has Janet ever been called the King of Pop....

You just can't handpick The New King of Pop randomly. I think LaToya Jackson deserves the title though, she had oviously been making hits long before MJ came... he stole her look and charisma... She's rather the original King of Pop. Yet, overshadowing her amongst these new crappy popstars doesn't make any sense to me... You guys sure ain't trippin?
