Can't wait for the Kid N' Play & DJ Quik episodes!! I still listen to those albums to this day, and Quik deserves more recognition for all he's done.

I wonder if Lonnie Simmons gave an interview for that Yarabrough & Peoples one?

lol, looks as if that's the way they are headed. Can I get some unsung's on Cameo, The Jones Girls (I think they are even more unsung than The Emotions) Skyy, Starpoint, Mtume, Five Star, Switch,Bobby Caldwell, Loose Ends, Tom Browne. If I could get all these in one season I'd be content.

Switch was somewhat featured in the DeBarge episode. I still wanna see Joe Tex. Te recently passed Ben E. King would be good also, he an Unsung 60s artist to say the least.

He probably fits more than Sammy Davis Jr. razz Sammy is not obscure at all and is fairly well documented. But maybe they should go with his sons' group The Reddings instead.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

With the Hollywood version, I'd like to see That's My Mama, Julia (1960s TV show), Roscoe Lee Browne, Jester Hairston, & Jim Kelly

If they wanted obscure all around entertainer, could have done Pearl Bailey or Timmie Rodgers.

Is there a lot of footage of him? Whoopi Goldberg said she had a hard time finding film of Moms Mabley other than when she appeared on late 1960s TV shows. So she went with animation for part of her documentary. Kinda the same thing with the Sixto Rodriguez documentary movie.

Youtube has at least 5 stand up performances on him, not to mention the short lives 1940s variety series. Also him on Sanford and Son and his music records.

yeah, Switch was touched on but Id be interested in seeing the Switch story from them without it centering on the group Debarge. Where we would see other members of Switch give there story like Jody Sim, Eddie Fluellen,Phillip Ingram, Tommy Debarge, Renard Gallo and when they joined the Total Experience record label etc.

I didn't like this episode again another softball documentary. Ike Turner certainly is an interesting subject but of course the producers failed to go deeper. To interview his grandchildren who didn't witness anything is a waste of time. Where were his sons? They must've turned down the producers I'm sure they seen and heard a lot just as much as the backup dancers and the band.
