Who's the greatest ironic, funny, tragic, meaningful, substance love, tragic, and gay. Songwriter of all time? these two come to mind when ''gay tragic and ironic'' songwriters come to mind.


Most people would say morrisey cause kids these days worship Morrisey. And the man sure can write the hell out of a song. But The Smiths nor Morrisey's solo work was ever in the darkness. I would always say Neil or morrisey cause he was a bit more diverse.

Addressing politics, religion, sexuality, greed, communism, genocide, sex, bad love, gender confusion, death, sex related death, tragic death, funny death, socialism, class issues, pride etc. And Neil always had ''different points of views'' like the song on Very said. Where as Morrisey always had the same POV throughout his entire career.

Both are great artists and deserve the respect that they get. Who would you say is the better songwriter? who's the one still writing great stuff?

went to a morrissey gig a few weeks ago in leeds,thought he put on a great show, the whole place

was singing 'every day is like sunday'it was brilliant.pet shop boys are ok too but it has to be

morrissey for me on this one.

Id say they are on an opposite trajectories. Neil has gotten better and better, while Moz who I would say once wore the crown has pretty much descended into cliche. I do agree that Moz always singing mostly bout himself has gotten really tired of the course of his career.
