A Madonna fan wouldn't dis her for an onstage kiss or her age.
A Drake fan would recognize his reaction from the "Anaconda" video!

I think that some of us have just had it up to here with stupid stunts and pointless gimmicks.

It could have been any two jackasses on that stage and I would have said the same. It sucks what passes for entertainment these days. The difference is that the stunts are now the main focus, instead of music.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Doesn't matter if it was staged or not, the way it comes off in the vldeo clips doesn't help anyone understand the lines of what counts as sexual harassment and molestation and what doesn't.

The message it sends out seems clear to me though - people with a lot of power should be allowed to do anything they want and not be held responsible for their actions because they're so above everyone else.

Yeah, I doubt Drake "suffered" to any degree, but there's obviously a double-standard involved if Madonna and her fans genuinely thinks what she did was okay.

Exactly! Madonna has gotten away with shit like this for years. I'll never forget about the story she told about how she had sex with that underaged boy. Nobody ever brings this up. While the media made sure you never forgot about MJ's alleged victims. Theres always been a double standard when it came to her. She gets away with shit because people write it off as Madonna being Madonna. And then to add insult to injury she has the audacity to still complain.

Thank you.

When has Madonna ever admitted to having sex with an underage boy? No one has explained that yet. Most of the guy she dates are in their mid twenties, hardly underage. I believe the age of consent is 16. I don't know of Madonna ever saying she had sex with anyone under that age. Who is the name of this person?

So very true. I know that I've definitely had enough of today's celebs and entertainers stunts and gimmicks, it's like doing something for shock value is all that they know how to do these days. It's no longer about talent, just whomever does the most shocking thing to get people talking, and that has gotten old very fast.

No way would Madonna stage anything so embarrassing as this. This makes her seem unsexy; the opposite of what she'd want.

Just like with the fall at the Brits, the music gods are sending out signals that it's time to quit. She won't, but methinks it's going to be an embarrassing last few decades.

She should quit because of one stumble? If that were the rule, we would have no performers left. Madonna will keep on doing her thing and the haters will keep on hating. She won't be truly appreciated until she's no longer with us sadly. She's a huge icon but one of the least appreciated and most attacked ones.

Did I say that? No, these are just little instances that symbolize a bigger problem. But I realize Madonna is a religion to folks around here and people don't like to hear their religion being knocked so I won't go there, but let's just say the cringe factor is getting higher and higher as the years go by.

As for the rest of your post it's ridiculous and typifies the self-pity of stans. Far from being underappreciated she's overappreciated. She's the most popular female artist ever; younger artists bow down to her; critics turn a blind eye to her worst features (that voice for instance has become a horrendous instrument of torture for discerning listeners). On it goes....

As you said, she's an icon. You fans should appreciate that and not ask for her to be taken for anything she's not. She's not a serious artist like a Bob Dylan or a Prince. She's a prototype of today's "look at me" pop stars. That's an accomplishment of sorts I guess. Enjoy it, but don't ask for her to be taken for any more than what she is.

A horrendous instrument of torture? If you say that you truly a hater. She has done many lovely vocals over the years including ballads on the new album like Ghosttown and Joan of Arc. A song like Live to Tell has horrendous vocals?

Madonna has a serious side and a playful side. She's not Bob Dylan and she doesn't pretend to be. Prince isn't all serious all the time, and definitely has a look at me side with some of the things he's said and done over the years. You really haven't listened to her albums if you think she doesn't have a serious side.

I don't understand people like you who say they hate someone but can't stop commenting. Why devote so much time to being filled with hate towards someone you don't even know? There are thousands of artists out there; devote your time to following them.

I don't understand the hate Madonna brings out in so many people.

Please learn to read? I said her voice has "become" horrendous. Before it was just bad, but at least sounded good on record (not live though). Nowadays it really is painful. It's a cliche that love makes you blind, but in the case of Madonna it makes you deaf too.

Also, I said nothing about her not having a "serious side". I said she is not a serious artist. Those are two different things. James Brown mostly made feelgood dance music, but he was most definitely a serious artist. Madonna ain't. Sorry.

I think hate makes you deaf. Her voice is not that different from when she was younger. But you claim it was always bad!!

What makes someone a serious artist? Just because you like them? Why is James Brown a serious artist and Madonna isn't? Is it because she's a woman?

I think your take is twisted by hate. I don't expect everyone to love Madonna the way I do and I'm all for constructive criticism of her, but your posts are just outright filled with hate and just blatant insults.

Sigh. It would be a waste of my time to explain to you why JB is a serious artist and Madonna isn't. The fact that the only explanation you can think of is sexism says everything about how blinkered you are on these issues (you can't even hear how much her voice has changed over the years - jesus!).

I'll just quote another genuine artist, who happens to have a vagina so can't be accused of sexism, the great Joni Mitchell (peace be upon Her)...

"Madonna has knocked the importance of talent out of the arena"

An overstatement no doubt, but definitely a strong grain of truth there. Joni also said that Madonna's example was "death to all things real". Again, an overstatement, but getting at a profound truth. Maybe soon we'll get another Joni. Lord knows this culture has had more than enough Madonnas.

And Madonna has said on many occassions that she's a huge fan of Court and Spark and Joni. Madonna is just a different type of artist. Madonna has class, whereas people that get off on knocking other artists' down don't. There should be room for different types of artists. Prince isn't exactly like Joni Mitchell is he? What makes Madonna unreal? She has written many personal songs such as about the death of her mother and other topics, as well as the more fun things.

I think you are blinded by hate. I think it's telling that you don't define what makes someone a serious artist, because you can't. I think if you are going to say someone is not a serious artist, you should be able to define specifically what makes someone a serious artist, but you can't. Art is very unique to every individual.

I think it's ridiculous to say Madonna has no talent when she has been responsible for some of the most remembered and loved songs such as Like A Prayer and Live to Tell. Why not just say her music is not to your liking, instead of feeling the need to attack her talent.

.

1. When/where did Madonna say that?

.

2. When was she ever charged and prosecuted for criminal behavior concerning a minor?

rolleyes i'm so bored with madonna. I get that in her day she was fearless and what not. Now she tries too hard... and i don't see how people can't see that. She's gotten away with saying the ''n'' word. Got away with a lot of dumb shit cause ''she's madonna bitch'' and her gay fans defend her to the death.
