That's the same girl that Dave pulled out of the audience on Kimmel. Glad Dave decided to lose the wigs. Eddie sounds and looks great.

I've seen VH a few times over the years, most recently in 2011. I won't go again. Seeing Eddie play was awesome, but Dave's voice is gone. It was painful listening to him the last time I saw them in concert. If the tickets were cheap, I might go just to see Eddie, but we all know they're not, so I won't be going.

Van Halen was never really about Dave's voice. And real Van Halen fans don't give a fuck about Sammy Hagar. I agree it's not the same. But for 60, they ain't bad!!

I've been a real VH fan since the late 70's. I saw them in their real heyday and I know Dave's voice is shot. Don't tell me it doesn't matter because it does. The only thing that really matters now is Ed's great guitar playing.

lol you music hoes and these ''real fans'' bullshit. VH can like Sammy & Dave and still be real fans. There's no such thing as a real fan for a musician. You must be a real Prince fan cause you have all his outtakes right? and you have that 1996 private show on Stray Cats? razz

Come on now! Even if you refuse to admit it: We ALL know Van Hagar was an entirely different band for the worse. Sammy was spiking Eddie's wine with estrogen, its obvious. They almost sounded Adult Contemporary in a way, and when they actually decided to NOT write sappy ballad tripe and kicked it up a notch, it seemed contrived. I like a couple songs here and there, sure. Im not that much of an elitist prick. But VH with Hagar was simply the anti-VH with Diamond Dave. Give me "Romeo Delight" and "The Full Bug" anyday over "Poundcake" and "The Seventh Seal". Van Hagar just lacked that swagger that the OG VH had in bulk, man. And I got to see VH back in 2012 at MSG and they RIPPED! Eddie was stupendous!

Seriously! Theres something very special about those original 6 VH albums that transcended a lot of barriers, and spoke to many different kinds of people. It wasnt a fluke that they sold as many albums as they did at that time without barging their way into markets they werent exactly supposed to be in, you know? The original VH's best trait was their knack of giving off a type of loose, tough vibe that was HEAVY AS FUCK which kept the stubborn metalheads happy, and inviting enough for the non-hard rock fan to really appreciate just how goddamn great those songs were. They could do it all. Funky one minute, ungodly heavy another and NOT ONCE did they take themselves seriously like Van Hagar eventually did. I sound like a total fanboy here, but I assure you Im not! Just a lover of inarguably great, classic music. VH1 through 1984 is essential listening, and a rite of passage for any little kid discovering rock music for the first time (much less picking up and learning how to play guitar).

And I should also add that I dont hate Sammy Hagar. Not at all. He bitches about the VH brothers every chance he gets, but he does comes across usually as a cool, grounded sort of guy (to an extent, certainly more than Roth does at least) who worked hard with a touch of luck. Actually, alot of luck. The guy got involved in an unwinnable situation by becoming the successor to DLR's throne in the untouchable VH. And he did a commendable enough job given the circumstances and sheer pressure of it all. But that doesnt mean I gotta like their output. And I also read his book. I enjoyed the fuck out of it, truly. Hes humble enough to count his many blessings pre-VH, but becomes a total diva bitch in regards to the VH portion. Its no secret Al and (especially) Eddie are difficult, horrible people to work with a lot of the time and Sammy definitely threw them under the bus to sell books, but Jesus Red Rocker, be humble and grateful enough to acknowledge that you were in one of the biggest bands ever. Asshole only bit the hand that fed because he was successful as a solo act before joining VH. But respect to Hagar for giving Michael Anthony some work! He got a raw deal and the brothers did him dirty tenfold and everybody knows Michael Anthony is good people and VH's secret weapon with those wonderful background vocals of his! The fact that the brothers replaced Anthony's photo on the cover of VH1 with Wolfie's that one time is just unforgiveable. But to end on a good note: the story Hagar tells in the book about almost fist-fighting Sly Stone is awesome, and the gross sexcipades under the stage during the band's solos on the F.U.C.K. tour was wild too. But fuck Van Hagar yo!

Well, Eddie still shreds like a madman, but DLR looks like he shit his pants and tries desperately to hide it..a shame, he used to be one of the baddest frontmen ever...ah well, I'll leave it to the suckers to pay 200$ Per show to relive their childhood memories...
