That is my favorite part of that DVD, the gospel is strong on this one. Fabulous lead vocals leading up to the landing of the mothership. Parliament/Funkadelic at the top of thir game!

That video cuts too early! When the mothership "lands" and Dr. Funkenstein appears...that little pimp walk George does down the steps, headed to the mic...gets me every time. That is the coolest, pimpin'-est shit I've ever seen! Look it up...

Identity

This was Parliament/Funkadelic at the height of its collective powers, tapping into funk's core.

I envy you, it is like seeing the powers and spirit of the universe for the first time. It was and is an unrivaled religious experience.

That Quazar album was banging. Glen died of cancer before the release of the album. He was a very good vocalist. It was a very nice underrated album and on the
album they showed a little versatility showing they were more than just P- Funk clones. I like the jazzy instrumental Shades a Of Quazar.

I remember seeing Sly Stone either jamming with George's band or Sly Stone jamming with his band on the song "Sing A Simple Song" on October 31, 1976. I saw a clip of Sly Stone jamming from this show but haven't been able to find it since. Is Sly's part on DVD or on bootleg?

The dvd has been on repeat since I got it. Trying to track down as many live boots as I can, they killed it live!!!

Sly is not on the video clips. The tall guy in the jumpsuit (who looked like Sly) was his drummer. I remember reading that on this tour, Bootsy and P-Funk would sometimes swap sets..opening or closing. Sly was always in the middle. Supposedly (from what I read on the old "Mothership'' site) Sly didn't go over to well with some of the younger funkateers. He was nervous, half out of it onstage and would not come out during the some of the final encore jams. After the 76 tour, Lynn Maybry (Sly's cousin) and Dawn Silva joined P-Funk.

I have the Bootsy show and the P-Funk show from the same night (packed away on VHS) but I could never find Sly's show. I wonder if it was ever videotaped?
