Inspiration behind famous songs i was watching this documentary called 'everything is a remix' which analayses bits of popular culture movies, music, inventions etc. and all of the small things that inspired these pieces of work and its sort of weird seeing how much stars wars resembles some obscure novels nobody knows about. It also mentioned music like what inspired led zep to make stairway to heaven and what inspired the person that inspired that person etc.
Does anyone here know any famous songs that have almost identical sounding inspirations? I know eg MJ will you be there 1991 was inspired by I Cigni Di Balaka 1987 Are there any sonically similar songs to purple rain, billie jean from before it? I'm feeling a bit fammy™

Listen to the bassline. It's known that MJ spoke of this songs influence of Billie Jean. . Music, sweet music, I wish I could caress and...kiss, kiss...
