Updated: Ciara Debuts "I Bet " Video, New Album in May

Ciara can't stop gushing about her next studio album, Jackie.

In an interview with Women's Wear Daily, the singer revealed details about her upcoming effort. "I named the album after my mom, because I see the world through her eyes now that I’m a mom," Ciara says. "It’s my best body of work. I’m in the most clear place in my life, and that pours into the music. I kept it small and tight in terms of producers; I wanted it to sound consistent. I worked with Dr. Luke, Polow da Don, Harmony Samuels and a few other producers."

Ci Ci also spoke about the video for "I Bet," which was filmed in New York City last Friday. "I did things I’ve always wanted to do in the video, style-wise and performance-wise," she says of the upcoming visual. "I had a vision!" Ciara says that raising her son Future Zahir Wilburn, who just turned 9 months old and is now crawling, has given her new inspiration.

"Oh, my goodness. It’s changed my life, period. My son is the greatest, sweetest gift God has given me. The word responsibility has a whole new meaning," she explains. "My son arriving has changed how I keep pushing myself as a woman -- and a businesswoman. I’m like, 'Baby’s gotta eat!' I hustle even harder; I have a clearer purpose in life."

Jackie arrives this spring.

She, unfortunately, comes across like a poor carbon copy of Beyonce.

I think she could make a transition into full-time model. She's dabbled in the fashion world and modelled for Ralph Lauren, appearing at NYC fashion week this month.

She kept it "small and tight in terms of producers," but worked with so many she couldn't actually name them all? confused

disbelief I feel guilty sometimes about how much I dislike this woman.

She is a far more talented dancer than Beyonce so how is she a poor man Beyonce? Her last album had a few 80's inspired Janet Jackson sounding songs that were actually pretty good. Ciara is a weak singer but she gets to bad of rep sometimes. She is a great great dancer. She needs better producers and management, not a fan but just saying

In a surprise move, famous US R&B singer admits to the Washington Post: "My new album is only mediocre. Couple of good songs, but some real fillers as well. But the lead single has a hot video, so we are hoping to score many views on YouTube".

Preparing on scene for what looks to be a hot video shot, Ciara admits to our reporter that her voice has sounded better when she was younger, singing in the local gospel choir. "For these lyrics, I really could put my heart into the songs, and you could tell in my voice. On the new album, it's all about boy meets girl, get on the dance floor, hot showers and stuff like that. That just ain't me, and that's why my voice is kind of flat".

Ciara has so far refused to model for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, but talks freely about her desire to one day show the world a different Ciara. "All I am reduced to is good looks and run-of-the-mill urban beats. But one day I want to show the world there is more to me. My aspiration would be to star in these magazines, and make people forget about my beats".

The Washington Post is proudly sponsored by Dr Luke & Polow the Don, and has received a free ride for this interview.

I really wanted CiCi to win! She is just as talented as Beyonce and especially Rihanna. The girl has got it all. It just goes to show you that you can have all the right ingredients, but if you ain't got a winning team around you. It don't mean a damn thing. She reminds me of Janet in that picture.

Ciara just isn't on the same page with Beyonce vocally. Not saying Beyonce is Aretha or nothing but her chops are better than CiCi's. However, Beyonce wish she had the natural dancing ability that Ciara has. With that said, I agree about having the right team behind you. Janet's team up to the "All For You/Damita Jo" era was probably one of the tightest machines in the business back then. The whole shake up at Virgin and EMI played a large role in that too though.

I agree I think they are all on the same level of talent. I dont think any of them are exceptionally talented in any area. Ciara is attractive, she can dance her voice has the old school Janet vibe and it sounds pretty to the ears. With the right team behind her, she could be just as big as them.

Exactly! People love to drag her, but given the right people behind her. She could easily be as big as a Beyonce or a Rihanna. I suspect LA Reid saw that Janet angle in her. Its why he kept her around so long. She just doesn't have the right people.
