Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings Live

If you ever loved classic R&B music, you have to see Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. I first saw her and her band several years ago and loved the performance, but she was off the chain tonight...and the band is amazing live. It simply wasn't enough--I bought another ticket for another show... Here's a paultry example.

I saw her and the band play Brighton (UK) earlier in 2014 and they tore the roof off! Sharon Jones was a whirlwind of energy! Really made me imagine what it felt like watching all the great soul acts in the 60's....Definately check her and her band out.

She said she finished her last chemo treatment but she's not out of the woods yet. It's amazing she has such energy and life force with what she's been through.

I was lucky enough to hang backstage with them in Auckland. SO TIGHT. So groovy. Sharon was dynamite when she hit the stage. A MUST SEE SHOW!

Saw her last spring and she had a fire lit under her with this cancer battle. I've seen her 4 or 5 times and this time she really took it to the edge. Love this band and the record label for that matter.

Congratulations to Sharon and the Dap Kings for getting long over due recognition by receiving their first ever Grammy nomination for Best R&B album for "Give The People What They Want." clapping Keep up the good fight, Sharon!

I saw them live over the summer at an outdoor venue in blazing heat. That woman is a BEAST! She did not miss a beat, and was serving all the sass. She was so kind too. Came and gave out hugs and photos after the show and chatted with everyone until really late

Wonderful! Saw them open for Paul Weller a few years ago & greatly dug it.
