I still love this album to this day, and I think it´s the best album that Ice-T has ever released. None of his later albums come close to this masterpiece. The lyrics, the simple, almost primitive yet powerful beats by Afrika Islam, Evil E on the turntables, the storytelling...this album put the Westcoast on the HipHop map, and the cover artwork is so iconic and one of my favorite album sleeves of all time by any artist.

Songs like Squeeze The Trigger are almost prophetic in hindsight. The storytelling in songs such as Pain, Six in the Morning Pt.1&2, and the fun lyrics in 409 .....what´s not to love? Ice-T is a smart, selfmade man.

Glen E. Friedman´s cover picture is so beautiful.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

A must-have and timeless classic.

Songs like Life´s A Bitch, New York State of Mind, The World Is Yours.....pure genius.

Still one of my favorite rap albums of all time. I also liked Stillmatic, which was released years after this masterpiece.

A lot of rap careers started on the basis of a hit single or two, and then they started building albums around those hits (as soon as "the rap album" became a thing). There are a tonne of them.

Are you talking about Got To Be There or Off The Wall? Some people seem to ignore the Motown stuff and think his first album was on Epic.

I said 'even when dissected by labels' just for that reason, as Got To Be There and Off The Wall were both great releases. 😎

Same with Diana Ross Presents... and 'The Jacksons'. Debut albums on different labels (and a different name for the brothers), but both great albums.

Hands-down Toni Braxton...Babyface gave us a "Taste" of Toni when he Put her on the "Boomerang" soundtrack...Babyface Duet with her on "Give you my Heart" made us dance...Toni's 1st Solo hit "Love should've brought you home last night" made us stop and listen....When the "Toni Braxton Album" dropped it was the best surprise since slice bread....Pop & R&B radio ate it up and she became a STAR...
