Artists you don't hear on the radio anymore

Who are some artists with a bunch of hits that you don't hear on really any radio formats where you are?

I noticed that I don't seem to hear much 80's dance-pop such as Taylor Dayne, Sheena Easton, and even Madonna (Though she dominated the charts) George Michael as well. The biggest Wham! hits seem to get more for me. What about 60's/70's artists? I can't think of any now since they tend to have oldies/classic soul/classic rock formats.

Disclaimer: I wasn't around in the 80's or 90's listening to radio but I'm assuming by chart placement they were big radio hits

Where do you live? Madonna and Wham/George Michael are always on the radio here almost everyday, mainly their 80's and early 90's hits. The most I hear from Taylor Dayne if ever is Tell It To My Heart, mainly when mixtapes are being played. Not just on "oldies" stations but on stations that play songs from late 70's to present with a good balance.

I'm in Western New York. Actually Madonna has some I've heard,on a station like you said (70's to present), just not all that often. I've only heard "Faith" so far for Michael.

I hear music I used to hear in the 70s and 80s all the time on radio--you just have to find the right stations.

As for Taylor Dayne, the radios over here in Holland also play her Barry White cover! ^^

Do you still have kiss 98.5? They had a good balance

I always hear careless whisper, everything she wants, wake me up before you go, faith, I want your sex and freedom 90' though I've also heard wham's freedom too sometimes

With Madonna I often hear holiday, borderline, lucky star, material girl, get into the groove, la isla Bonita, papa don't preach, true blue, like a prayer, vogue, I'll remember, express yourself

Over here, it was Hard Candy. The singles off it had a fair bit of airplay (especially 'Give It 2 Me') in 2008/2009; but now the radio stations won't even touch it. Now, the most recent Madge singles that get played regularly are a couple from Confessions. And even those significantly less than stuff off Ray Of Light and American Life.

Oh yeah I do hear sorry sometimes though not like before when it had heavy airplay. I might have heard hung up too. You Canadian by any chance? She was always bigger here than US it seems, in recent years

I don't hear Johnny Mathis & Nat King Cole except around Christmas. They didn't just make Christmas records. Don't really hear Donny Hathaway either other than This Christmas.

Wait, you mean people still listen to the radio? I thought that radio had gone by the way of the dinosaur.

I'm from Holland, actually. She has a huge following throughout Europe as well; her later albums up until Hard Candy did quite well.

The local adult contemporary station sometimes play Blame It On The Rain. I heard Girl You Know It's True a couple of months ago on the soul oldies station and on another station during a DJ party mix that they do every weekend.
