Lorde signs up Grace Jones & Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon for new Hunger Games soundtrack Could be pretty interesting... . Lorde has signed up 80s superstars Grace Jones and Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon to sing on a new Hunger Games soundtrack, according to reports from New York. The Grammy Award-winning 17 year-old has already released a new song from the soundtrack, Yellow Flicker Beat. But the New York Post said the New Zealand teenager was also in charge of choosing all other artists who'll contribute to the album. Great choices, and could there be a better job for a 17 year old?!? What an awesome project to lead! Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

So someone give me the 411...Is Lorde writing and Producing the entire Sountrack? I've never heard of a Label giving a 17yr old Recording Artist full reign over a Movie soundtrack of any caliber. Kevin Costner had his hands on "The Bodyguard" soundtrack because as The Producer he knew what sound he was looking for in all the scenes...Once again, 17yr old Lorde is in charge of the entire Hunger Games CD Project?

. I think she's just curating it....As far as I know, selecting artists and conveying to them what's needed for the soundtrack. I think the artists involved are writing new songs to suit. . She's written/performed the lead single though, which came out this week. . . Lorde Shares Alluring 'Hunger Games' Single 'Yellow Flicker Beat'
Lorde has shared "Yellow Flicker Beat," her alluring lead single from the singer's curated soundtrack to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1. The dark jam fits comfortably within the 17-year-old's sonic wheelhouse, with Lorde's brooding croon stretched out over minimal synths and rattling drums. "I'm a princess cut from marble / smoother than a storm," she sings, in what sounds like a reference to Hunger Games protagonist Katniss Everdeen. "And the scars that mark my body / they’re silver and gold." "It's my first offering from what i hope will be a soundtrack you love," the singer wrote on her Tumblr. "It's my attempt at getting inside her head, katniss’. i hope you like it." Lorde noted that after each show, she retreats to her "little bed office" and works "from midnight until late on the soundtrack, singing into my computer, listening to demos and final mixes." "We are almost at the end, the point where this soundtrack gets taken away from me and becomes something real," she added. "I'm reminded of this day last year, when Pure Heroine came out in this country. The feeling of something very solitary that I had worked on spinning around and around further away from me, becoming someone else’s, everyone’s."

She's challenging herself at such a young age...If she continues to love what she's doing she'll be around for a very long time..

This is a cool update. I had heard in the summer that Lorde was offered "a soundtrack" and she said yes, and THEN found out it was Hunger Games. Pretty cool that Simon Le Bon has been added to the mix.
