Well if he's on the decline commercially, he might actually stand a chance of becoming a more interesting artist. This happens sometimes.

My Way is my fave but I recall it being a huge album.. lots of hits. Confessions was crazier the way "Yeah" stayed at #1 for months.

i couldnt understand the appeal of 'yeah', it was a bunch of noise.lil john has to be one of the worse producers to hit the scene.

it's just a silly club song. won't become a classic and I doubt if generations of singers to come will be covering it. lol

confessions is the worse thing to happen to usher, that album is overrated as hell but because of the huge sales it changed expectations. i still think my way was his best album

See, I loved him during My Way and 8701. I bought Confessions the first day it was out and never took to it at all. I really never understood how that album became so huge in the US.

That is almost my exact reaction to it. I was listening to a lot of jazz at the time so that simple repetitive figure on that harsh synth felt like an assault on my ears/intelligence!

Confessions is themost overrated album, maybe ever.

People just aren't interested anymore. can't follow up a huge era with the album that he did. I don't even remember what it was called but it was weak.

Besides usher was never a great "artist" he was just good taking what's hot at themoment and capitalizing off it with his looks and solid performing skills. then he tried to go totally pop and hisfanbase abandoned him. Same thing happened to Ne Yo

8701 is my favorite though

i was never a fan of his performing but i really liked my way and 8701,i think what was going on in his personal life helped with the confessions hype. i remember people saying it was about chilli.for an album that huge i dont hear any of those songs being played today anywhere, there are no classic songs on that album.

It took awhile to retire them in the first place, but I'll bet you when the 00s revival happens (and it will), you'll hear them again.

I hear Yeah on the radio all the time still, more than any of his hits in fact besides You Make Me Wanna.

Anyways, he deserves better sales, everyone forgets he outsold justin timberlake last decade though people think he's more popular.

It's criminal how he could put out a really good tune after years with nikki minaj produced by pharell, and robin thicke still goes number one....

His new songs are absolute shit. He was promoting the shit out of them! and neither reached the top 40. Or even the top 50 lol

He showed promise when he did Climax. Now he's back to making generic pop.

Yep.

The End.
