I actually like this abum, compared to her other 2 albums. It sounds like the songs fit together and not Clive trying to make her into a Whitney- which he couldn't.

The album features three tracks produced by Pharrell and there is a Timbaland production as well.

I'll give it a listen, but I'll probably skip over the R.Kelly duet lol don't really like him at all

Jennifer is a talented vocalist, she just needs the right song to send her to the top of the charts.Hopefully,it's on this album.

I like the retro-grooves throughout music there are moments on this album when you feel like it's 1982 again. And there are some solid uptempo jams here (something you don't always find on modern-day R&B albums).

I give it a thumbs up wink

Dance music... eek It's a solid album, that's as good as it gets these days.

lol

As musicman mentioned, this album has continuity, so, so true. Ms. Hudson's previous releases were disjointed.

I was thinking the same. But, as I was listening to it on my way into work this morning, I can already tell the R. Kelly track is going to be one of, if not, my favorite tune on the album. Vocally, Jennifer was killin' it! headbang

Not a fan of R. Kelly either but I'll give credit were credit is do, damn good song.

Oh yeah, this album has house / remix written all over it! biggrin

A couple of songs form Ms. Hudson's album could have been trimmed, but I'm glad to see she keep her album to 10 songs.

lol yeah,Aretha already has her heart set on Halle Berry to play her

I think Aretha deserves more than a Lifetime TV movie. Her life story should be a major motion picture. We're talking about the Queen of Soul!

You would think... lol

Someone will have to do a bio-pic after Sister Franklin goes to glory. lol Hate to sound morbid but... nobody can tell the whole truth about her life, while she's alive.

You're right. Besides, she would probably too much of a pain in the production process anyway. lol Her delusions of Halle Berry playing her says it all. lol

According to the story I heard on the local news, Jen and Aretha have already talked and Aretha is 100% behind her. Jennifer is really the only contemporary vocalist I can think of that would be able to do justice to Aretha's music. it's not really set in stone yet. They also mentioned some broadway performer who wants the part. Can't remember who it is since I'm not familiar with broadway actors.

I think I'm gonna get it. The singles off this album so far are better than
singles off her prior albums. Digging Dangerous, I can't Describe, and It's Your
World despite Robert Kelly's presence on it.

This time, she really made a solid album. There are 3 or 4 potential hits on this album. If they promote it right, this could be a commercial breakthrough for her.

Someone tell me why a Jennifer Hudson album is labeled explicit. lol
I picked it up yesterday. Dangerous is a standout track. Like Soul mentioned
a few songs on this album are the strongest material of her career. This is only
the second new cd I bought this year. Hopefully I'll buy a 3rd come next week if the material is kickin. wink

Hardly anybody really sells alot of CDs these days, anyway. But if she can get a few hit singles from this album, that will be enough.

They certainly sell more than that. Lenny Kravitz is 50, releasing his first album on his own independent label, has nothing close to a hit, and is set to do as much as she is. I wouldn't be surprised if he sells more actually.

None of her singles have really caught on either (not appearing on the Hot 100 at all and not entering the top 20 of the R&B chart either).

Hopefully it'll motivate them to either actually do something worthwhile with her instead of trying this stunted makeover and acting as if it's "personal", or just drop her.

Man I really hope a music video comes out for this one - can't stop dancing to this! headbang music dancing jig

I know BUT Jennifer CANNOT DO IT! That girl is so much like Whitney.....SHE IS one of my favorite "saaanging" chics but cannot dance to save her life. I don't need her to dance to appreciate the vocal bliss but when it does happen it's painful to see.

I love the back and forth at the end.....screaming like an old Chaka tune...yes yes lol

eek

Naw dancing isn't JHud's forte but I do like her showcasing that phat ass

in this video. I remember her trying to dance to this song on that tv special

she had out over a month ago showcasing her new album.
