Lenny Kravitz Strut Album Streaming!!

So far it sounds good. Funky and rocking! I think this is a strong come back from him. Any thoughts so far orgers?? Can't wait to hear all the Lenny/Prince album comparrisons when both albums drop. Come on, you know it's coming. lol

Lenny recently said in an interview he'd love to collaborate with the Purple One. Fine by me. cool

Well I thought 'Black And White America' was really underrated and a major improvement on the previous couple of albums. I'm liking this a lot so far too.

First off, lawd knows I love me some Lenny but.....on first listen, I'm not feeling the album. So far I'm only feeling "Sex", "Dirty White Boots", and bonus track "Sweet Gitchey Rose". Guess I'll have to take another listen because I really want to like the album.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

"Sweet Gitchy Rose" is excellent. I wonder why it's included as a "bonus track" on the album. The album could have benefited from having more uptempo tracks like it.

I was surprised by the overall sound. I was expecting more synths and effected guitars, but most of the album is pretty much rooted in the music of the 1960s. Reminds me of "Mama Said", actually. The production on most songs is excellent. The melodies could be stronger and I'm not sure if he even realized how grating his vocals can sometimes be. He should just use his softer voice more and not try to push it to its limits when he really doesn't have much of a range anyway. His cover of "Ooo Baby Baby" is hilarious. lol

It's a decent follow-up to his previous album, which I felt was his strongest since the 1990s, but not a great album by any means. Some of the songs he had released earlier ("Sex", "The Chamber") have started to grow on me, however.

See now....I purposely didn't bring that up in my comment earlier because...well, I just wanted to steer away from being negative in my review of his album but umm yeah, I'm in agreeance with you, his rendention of the song sucks big time. lol

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
