That is interesting! The video I linked to on page one of this thread, Jimmy was talking about how the George Martin/The Beatles were the only ones to have produced more hits.

Makes sense that Max Martin caught up since he's been doing it since the late 1990s pop (Robyn, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Backstreet Boys).

Yep. And more than likely Max Martin is bound to surpass George Martin considering he's still a popular producer. He writes catchy songs with hooks that stay with you (whether you like it or not). Hell, if he produced more songs for Taylor Swift's "pop album", that record may get broken by next year if not sooner.

Max Martin might break the record one day but definitely not anytime soon, not sure that Taylor can score another #1 from this album and we saw with Katy's latest that #1s are not a guarantee, she only scored 2 from this album after the previous 5+1...

You're right, it may not come through Taylor. But just considering his trend, he's likely to do it sooner versus later. He's one of the biggest culprits in todays music scene for supplying the crack for all of the little kiddies to consume on demand via catchy pop "dance" music. If he has multiple singles from various artist on queue and I'm sure he does, he's likely to at least tie George Martin with three more fairly quickly. I'm thinking by nine months. Too many labels are still calling him for his disposable hits. In a year's time he'll likely surpass it, based on his current track record

This to me is when Jam & Lewis were most exciting. The later stuff while very well produced, doesn't interest me so much outside of their Janet Jackson and Time tracks.
