Carrie Underwood to headline Superbowl halftime?

Every year the Superbowl is America’s most watched show. Some people tune in for the football action, while others enjoy watching the million dollar advertisements. Aside from the football action, the biggest part of Superbowl Sunday is most certainly the Halftime Show. We’re being told this year’s performer already has serious ties to the National Football League. A few inside sources revealed to us that Carrie Underwood most likely will be doing the super bowl halftime show this year. Football fans already know her from Sunday Night Football, and country music is more mainstream than ever. Can’t go wrong with this pick.-TO

You would think she would be a more obvious choice, but they apparently want someone who can sing well in a huge arena. In addition, NBC is broadcasting the Super Bowl this year, so my guess is that she will probably co-headline with possibly Blake Shelton (Voice tie-in), Miranda Lambert (Blake's wife, plus she did a duet with Carrie), and a special appearance from Maroon 5 (another Voice tie-in).

Lol. I bet Taylor Swift fans are having a bad day seeing this, but I'm glad NFL went for a country act. Carrie is beautiful and talented, although her music isn't as funky or uplifting as Princes or Springsteens or Brunos... I'm sure she'll put on a good show.
