I discovered Xavier Naidoo a few years ago. I really like most of his stuff. Another German singer I really really like is Tim Bendzko. He has great songs. Oh.. and I LOVE this song from Revolverheld.

Change it one more time..

This is just one of them...the EMOTION of this song gets me every time! He sings this to a woman that won't have him and "the difference", in his mind, is in their hearts, because if he were in her shoes, he would love her deeply. So emotional.

I love Juan Gabriel, its so sad he had to cancel most of his last shows this year sad

This is my favorite song of his mushy

The soundtrack to Carlito's Way is pretty badass....great song here by Tito Puente, loosely translated the song means "For the Dancers"

Anything sung by this Turkish megastar, TARKAN:

Tarkan'dan Dünya Çevre Günü'nde “Doğa Sensin!” konseri –

Why he isn't better known in the U.S. is criminal. The guy has vocal chops, is very good-looking, and is everything and more Ricky Martin or Enrique Iglesias or even Pitbull is... at least in Turkey and throughout Europe.

I'm just an ignorant gringo who grew up in middle America dunce so I wasn't exposed to a lot of foreign music. But I did happen to like this track. Maybe it had something to do with the singer.

When I was high school, I saw these foreign language videos.

And I'm sure this is one of the very few Korean music videos Americans are familiar with.

When it comes to recent German artists, I'm partial to Cassandra Steen. Incidentally, she's sung duets with both Xavier and Tim. My favourite of hers is 'Soo':

I listen to a lot of music in Maori, the language of New Zealand Polynesians. One of my favourite singers is Prince Tui Teka (1937 - 1985) a larger than life musician, composer and comedian. He performed mainly in English many country and wetsern and old R and B songs, but also did a lot of Maori action and love songs. One of his most famous was "E I po" (I am sad) dedicated to his wife Missy. He also did a version of the Bridge (A song by another Maori artist Deane Waretini) which features Il Silencio and Maori chants. It was dedicated to the Maori Battalion soldiers who fought and died in World War 2.

.

.

There are a lot of nice songs in Maori, both modern and old and one of the modern ones was the hit "Poi E" which set a Maori Poi (Womans action song with balls on strings) song (Waiata in Maori) to a modern beat and even a breakdancing sequence (It was 1984) and it was huge here. Performed by the Patea Maori Club, it helped the town of Patea after the freezing works that employed most of the people closed down.

.

.

Another vital act is Herbs, who were known for their Maori reggae music. Again like most Maori groups, they were bilingual, some songs came in English, others Maori and many were bilingual. Big hits of theirs include, Long Ago, Nuclear Waste (Is a coming down), French letter and Sensitive to a smile, a song for peace after a series of Riots in the town of Ruatoria in 1987, believed to have been caused by a group of frustrated Maori Rastafarians.

.

Either way, the Maori people have a rich musical legacy, one of which I am proud of, the language is beautiful and the music is full of melodies and love.

Ok I haven't been around here in forever but did stumble on this post. I had to share.

By the wonderfully talented Masayoshi Yamazaki, "One more time, one more chance" ; Some of you may have heard it in the movie 5cm per second. This is an acoustic version. Enjoy.

Just a beautiful song. For those who don't know the language it might seem long since there are a lot of verses! He puts such emotion into this.

Here's another of his I love: "Yawarakai Tsuki (Gentle Moon)"

Stucking fupid google is translating it as "soft month" lol lol

Sorry, couldn't resist this great live version of "Namae no nai Tori (Bird with no name)

Perfidia - in any version. This one by Linda Ronstadt is very good.
