Usher ft. Nicki Minaj "She Came To Give It To You"

I like this one a lot! Usher's vocals are on point as usual and the beat is nice. My only complaint is that once again, it sounds like a song from the late 70s/early 80s lol For the last 20 years NO ONE in r&b, pop & dance has been able to come up with a new sound!!!! I can't believe they're so out of ideas. Anyway you can really dance to this:

I like. See Usher's trying to make up for all the wasted years and giving us what he never should have stopped providing.

It's a very good groove. Ad the ad-libs are very Marvin Gaye-ish.

Obviously. I figured that out 2 seconds in. Hijackery abound. Marvin and S.O.S. Band. I didn't even get to the chorus.

These days, almost everyone is going for a retro/R&B/disco sound.I'm not complaining lol and Pharrell is a master at creating "new" grooves that take you back to that era (late 70s/early 80s).

That I'm wasting time with you

I think that it's meant to be an affectionate homage. They'll probably credit the interpolations in the liner notes.

.

I like it plenty. This retro sound is working a lot better for Usher in my ears than the dance pop he's been on for the past 7 or so years. Totally buying this album. And it'll be the first album of his I purchase since Confessions. razz

I don't want your rhythm without your rhyme

Im not really impressed. There's nothing original about the song. I mean if it came on at a party I'd dance to it and all... but yeah, at the end of the day it doesnt do much for me.

Change it one more time..

You'd be hard pressed to find anything groundbreakinh in today's music and while I do agree, it is a nice song nevertheless. It's a good car jam too, that's fer sure.

Yeah I think it'll be radio-friendly... minus the Nikki Minaj cursing at the end.

Change it one more time..
