Its not a bad track but its totally boring to me. Lenny's lost any edge he used to have, he's become too generic to be interesting to me anymore, which is sad because I loved his first few albums.

Change it one more time..

It's ok

I like the line and the way he sings "you put one in the chamber"

But to follow it up with A Blondie song stolen line "heart of glass" is just weak

Quite different from him. It still has the retro approach, but I think the way the song is produced and mixed is different from his usual stuff. I know he's done songs like "Black Velveteen" in the past, but this one has a softer, more compressed sound. There's not much of a melody present though, so it seems to mostly rely on the sounds.

The album cover makes me think he's just trying to win back his female audience base. I thought his last album was rather good, but apparently it sold very modestly (uhm, less than Prince's "The Rainbow Children"? eek )

It sounds pretty good. Not "wow", but it beats the hell out of most of those lip-syncers who can't sing at all. I will be buying this cd, that's for sure.

The song isn't bad at all, though I do believe, his last best remakable album was "5" and he hasn't topped it since. nod

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

5 maybe a ''commercial'' album and got bad reviews upon release. But, i find it to be a pretty unique album. It plays with many different styles that work quite well. There's the funk of It's Your Life, and Super soul fighter. Even Fly Away with all it's cheesy lyrics! was the fukiest and hardest rockin song on radio in 1999 by far.

Songs like If You Can't Say No & Black Velveteen sound like straight up Bjork. In her homogenic era! and the sound actually works with lennys voice.

Then there's the straight pop of I Belong To You. I think the album doesn't deserve the hate it gets.

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

The electronica and cold atmosphere of the songs sound like it too me smile and maybe a little Ray Of Light stuff too.

"Black Velveteen" was inspired by "I Was Made For Loving You" by KISS, and I guess this new one is too.

"If You Can't Say No" has just a strong late-90s music influence in general. It sounded pretty contemporary at the time, although I remember finding some of the lyrics during the verses unintentionally funny.

I've noticed Lenny isn't the best with lyrics lol he has some really decent ones here to there. But, a lot of his lyrics are cliche or cheesy. I still love him though cool i'm more about the sounds and instrumentals more than anything.

I like this - its got a cool groove to it. It will be interesting to see what kind of sound the album has or if it follows the standard Lenny blueprint
