Yes, you have a good point, but thats my point he's always being brought up in conversation, thus being overrated! However I will say he is a REAL artist, just not my cup of tea i guess...

Another way to think of it is if he were a singer a few generations back, he'd probably never be famous because he would have been considered just average by the standards of that time.

JL is definitely talented and qualifies as a real artist but not talented enough to keep from being bland. He really just has no character or edge and is devoid of any distinguishability or personality outside of "good piano player". He's a handsome guy so he has that going for him but he doesn't ooze sexiness or personify a debonair style of any sort. Basically, he has no charisma and it shows in his latest hit that I didn't even know it was him singing.
