I like the track he did with Lauryn Hill and Rob Zombie. I felt vocally Rob destroyed him though! D Couldn't keep up with those high growl notes. And Lauryn Hill was speaking Japanese in the chorus while crying playing accoustic guitar.

That should be "crying while trying to play acoustic guitar" but yes, great track. nod

40 minutes into this thing. I don't really hear the drugs in his voice or see that in his eyes. That's definitely been there with some of the other footage from more recent years. He looks a bit chunky, but I like the chunky version fo him. The guy just loves music, it's not hard to tell.

I don't care that he's chunky, but a slimmed down D would do a lot for my nostalgia kick! I can't shake the feeling that a single is gonna drop any day now.

I know I know. I hate him! Just my mixed up intuition/wishful thinking kicking up. This is why you rush release a follow-up. Kills the expectations. This album better be "Purple Rain"-"Voodoo"-"Nevermind" combined good!

He looks happy, skin looks clear. He is just an affable, funny dude. I am struck by how regular and down home it is. You don't expect that from someone with that much talent. He also seems to be a very loving guy-like you just wanna hug him or sit in his lap.

He struck me as being inarticulate during the interview. This is of no matter as he is highly

articulate when it comes to music.

And he has a fat guy's laugh, which humanized him, although I am not one of those who

buys into the D'Angelo mystique.

I think D is very, very shy. He does seem kinda jolly, though.

Questlove's urge to talk all the time is so annoying but D'angelo

seemed to enjoy himself which is cool. I like when he spoke about Sly recording with autotune

and D'angelo was like what are you doing!?!?!

I'm surprised Sly still records a lot

There's definitely been an improvement over the early days. He was really nervous in interviews those days. I remember seeing him in a Much Music interview and the guy said "you know" over thirty times within two sentences.

I don't think his inarticulateness is due to shyness. Jimi Hendrix was slightly inarticulate and I

think it has to do with preferring another form of communication (music). The same could be

said for D'Angelo.
