AC/DC Taking a Break

http://www.acdc.com/ca

After forty years of life dedicated to AC/DC, guitarist and founding member Malcolm Young is taking a break from the band due to ill health. Malcolm would like to thank the group's diehard legions of fans worldwide for their never-ending love and support.

In light of this news, AC/DC asks that Malcolm and his family's privacy be respected during this time. The band will continue to make music.

It's true. sad

a) I wish Malcolm a quick and swift recovery

b) musically, I don't give a ___ , really; at this point, any classic rock band from the '60s, '70s and '80s should retire already: so-so albums released every 5-6 years, overrated (or downright awful) and overpriced tours, etc

I mean, how long are the Stones going to tour? they're 70 (!) years old already, not even personal tragedy will stop them,...Kiss?? wow Paul Stanley cannot sing live anyome, he just can't neutral, Aerosmith??? dead ; Deep Purple? (without Blackmore-Jon Lord?) bored2, Bon Phoni? pooptoast ; Springsteen and the E Street Band????? same old same old; U2?? another world tour with a big ass futuristic stage??? been there done that; Van Halen?? how many comeback tours until the fans say "enough"?

time to retire, everybody, the peak(s) was a long time ago confused

I didn't really need a new AC/DC album that much but I would enjoy seeing them live again. That's what a rock concert is ALL ABOUT.

Bad news. Although wee brother Angus gets most of the plaudits, Mac's riffs will always be the guts of the band.

It's been too long since you've had your ass kicked properly:

I agree with most (NOT all) of what you're said. But it too bad the Rolling Stones (especially Mick & Keith) don't have anything else to do with their lives if or when they ever go on full-time retirement.

No I don't want them to retire just yet! Not if they continue to enjoy it. They're records in recent years may not match their hey day records but I still enjoy them. I don't really understand the "they should retire argument". If you're tired of them, stop following them.

A few things, if I may.

#1) They should not go on without Malcom...(Sorry Bon)

#2) They should put out another album as good as the last 2 or not put one out at all

#3) If they are going to go on tour again they should get a teleprompter that tells them what city their in. Screwed the pooch in Detroit last tour, not cool.

I wish radio would take a break from playing their songs every five seconds. You would think the spectrum was the highway to hell. In fact, it is.

I hate it when they do interviews and you ask them who they like musically and they say like Elvis and Chuck Berry and they hate everything past 1960..lol

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!
