Andre has NEVER toured or capitalized on his "Love Below" album that made him a huge superstar/sex symbol like Prince...He seemed VERY disconnected from his solo hits in the performance. I guess the crowd didn't help....

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

I think so too! From the moment I pushed play, I was totally hyped. Watching the crowd that was there in person, it was really like they knew nothing about OutKast.

That seemed rather deliberate to me. He was getting it for the rest but the crowd was acting all weak, then when Hey Ya came that's what they got hyped to. I was annoyed about that right along with him. shrug

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Born, raised & still living in Metro Atlanta, to me, this is *almost* just as big as P + The Revolution possibly finally reuniting. Them & their Dungeon Family are definitely my biggest influence in hip-hop other than Death Row...
Hope they release @ least 5 new songs as a duo. They could even release 'em on a new long overdue 2 CD OutKast retrospective collection. I'd definitely buy it. cool

Big Boi Announces New Record Deal

By Roz Edward, National Content Director
Big_Boi_entrance.jpg

With Outkast back and performing on a string of reunion tour dates this summer, group member Big Boi has announced a new deal with Epic Records for his next solo record, reports Billboard.

“I’m back with [Antonio] L.A. Reid and Sylvia Rhone. Got a brand new situation,” he tells Huffington Post of the deal, which he signed the day after Outkast’s first Coachella date on April 12.

.

No release date has been set for the solo effort, which follows 2012′s “Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors,” but he said new material would likely drop this summer.

.

“The album I’m not gonna rush,” said Big Boi (born Antwan Andre Patton). “I wanted to put something out before the end of the year. It depends, because me and Dre got a lot of work to do from now until the end of October. [But] you’re definitely going to get some brand new Big Boi material. Two or three singles before the fall.”

.

Of Reid, who signed Big Boi to his LaFace Records in 1992 and then to Island Def Jam when Outkast went on hiatus in the mid-’00s, Patton says, “That’s my mentor. He understands my music. And one thing about L.A. Reid, there are no creative restraints. He trusts my ear and let’s me make the music I want to make. We love being in business together. That’s my big brother.”

This news follows Big Boi’s new deal with Jordan Feldstein’s Career Artist Management, announced in March. “Jordan is a go-getter, mover and shaker, and my kind of guy,” Big Boi said in a statement. “I love his energy. We have a lot of new material and content coming this year, and can’t wait to get things started.”
