Downloaded Xscape itunes the first single yesterday not bad. Thoughts?

The single is not my thing and I am not an MJ fan, but having said that I will say that MJ's stuff is always professional and well produced. A tad old-fashioned, but there is always great attention to detail. Something that our man Prince is incapable of now a days.

Have to admit, that 15 second preview to Xscape sounds REALLY good. It will be interesting to hear what the rest of the song sounds like. I'm really looking forward to this album.

To me the song "she was loving me is gonna make or break this album.

Ive read stuff about it for ages and really makes me wonder if its as good as it has been told to be.

cause the 6 songs we know have some good and bad parts but perhaps a little inferior compared to the 7 "Michael"tracks, i didnt buy it because of the fakery.

based on the Xperia commercials Timbaland DID keep the essence of the Slave to the Rhythm song ( i was very afraid he would F this up and try and go make up his own musical score for it)

But the song she was loving me is going to be the one that makes me buy it or not buy it.

They did listen to the fans and its wonderfull they give us demos and reworked versions. No more Cascio songs is also a plus. But i really cant imagine Blue gangster, Xscape, do yo know where your children are or slave on the radio ......... because of the style i cant imagine it

Its hard to say if Timbaland kept the essence of Slave To The Rhythm, because the version that leaked back in 2010 was Tricky Stewart's mix. And Tricky specifically said he destroyed Babyface's production on the track. It's from the Dangerous sessions. The vocals are killer, but I've never thought much about the late-90's sounding version Tricky did.

You Will Two-Step To “Love Never Felt So Good”
This opening track from the album has an old-school, ‘80s feel that’s simply irresistible. Don’t fight it. Move those feet.

Michael Sings About Being Boyfriend #2
On “Chicago (She Was Lovin' Me),” MJ sings about being blindsided by a woman he’s dating. Turns out, o’girl has a husband and kids! Michael reportedly co-wrote pieces of the track. Go ahead and sip your tea.

MJ Found Inspiration In Televisions PSAs
Everyone remembers that old public service announcement that preceded the nighttime news: "It's 10 p.m. Do you know where your children are?" In a similar fashion, Michael tells the story of a runaway kid on “Do You Know Where Your Children Are?” over a galactic synth loop that’s still stuck in my head, two days later.

2Pac And Michael Jackson Would’ve Made Great Music Together
On the second playback of Xscape, after many of the attendees were already retrieving phones and bags from coat check, L.A. Reid unearthed a version of the title track with vocals from Tupac Shakur’s “Changes.” And believe it or not, it was epic. You can only imagine Mike and Makaveli dapping each other in upstairs in Thugz Mansion.

Human Nature live

I've converted this to an mp3 version and put it into my iPod, yes, this is so fucking beautiful and sensual, I'd almost say Human Nature is Michael's greatest song he ever recorded... Beautiful ballad, beautiful melody, his breathing and the smoothness of his vocals, his upper falsetto and the chorus (If they say why? why? tell'em that is human nature...) is so beautiful and bright.

I honestly can't take artists who sing songs they never wrote seriously, but MJ is an exception, he just puts so much soul & heart in it, you can almost say he wrote the whole shit himself.

Guys, has Prince covered any MJ song in his career aside from "Don't Stop Til' You Get Enough" (I've seen it on YouTube)?

Track 3 on the new album is called Lovin' You and is from the mid-80's.

I think there are a few tracks that are early demos with new production on this.

.

So maybe not so much a 'new album' as they might like to make out.

.

They say there are huge archives of unreleased music, but the fact they have had to use old demos to make up the numbers on an 8 Track album probabaly suggests that alot of the things they have are not all that good.

.

Personally, I dont think they should have released anything after his death, he was a perfectionist and anything he had recorded had he been happy with it would have been released, to me it seems like an insult to his legacy.

Well they could only choose demos that were vocally complete. A lot of the material was not complete.

And I'm sure they are holding back some material for future releases.

I just feel that he wouldn't have wanted bits and pieces put together and should have maybe been left as it was, the last album wasn't great, vocally a couple of tracks didnt sound like him if i remember right?

.

Surely though if they were holding things back, they would have more than 8 tracks to put on an album from a career spanning decades.

.

Although it's fair enough if the proceeds go to his children, but I think it will all probabaly go through his mother.

Apart from the 3 fake tracks the only song that to me sounds a little off is Hollywood Tonight, although I read that they used some affects which distorted the vocals a bit

No official word but it could be in May. They want to release the single close to the album release date.

Yes, he's done "I Want You Back", "Billie Jean", "Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)", "Dancing Machine" and "I Can't Help It" at various shows.
