What do you think of Beck Hansen?

I think he's fairly a legend in the making. His new album Morning Phase was called a perfect album by The New Yorker.

that's a very impressive run of good to great to brilliant albums.

plus countless singles, stand alone tracks contributed to films or

other media, the whole recordclub cover albums, his production

on albums by charlotte gainsbourg and others and many things

more. beck is a truly talented and special man. next to prince he

is probably my favorit artist.

and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

A genius for sure and an amazing musician

Morning Phase hands down one of the best of 2014

Catch him on tour if you can!
The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

First time I ever saw him was when he was interviewed on "Space Ghost Coast to Coast". Anyone that got interviewed by Space Ghost had to be cool.

I think he's overrated. I can't figure out why Lenny Kravitz gets sloughed off as a retro-

wannabe and Beck, who also wears his influences on his sleeve, and in my opinion,

has never written anything remotely musically interesting, is now being hailed and talked

about as a "genius" and making "perfect albums."

Maybe Kravitz should have toned down the rock star posturing and the hippie shenanigans?

Anyways, Sea Change was a decent album to listen to, and I think Beck should be praised

for his fearlessness - the styles of music he covers is pretty impressive!

I agree. I also want someone to explain how this guy can continue to put out music that no one purchases and gets a pass.

I've never cited him as a personal favourite, but I'm pretty sure he's in my TOP5 most-listened-artists ever. I've listened to him so much that I don't always even notice it that I've just put some Beck on. I guess he's like Prince in that sense for me. I can listen to that stuff under all kinds different moods and pick the right record.

"Lost Cause" is my favourite song by him, but I like many of the faster, dancey tracks a lot too.
