What do you think of Jack White?

I think he's fairly a legend in the making.

I would use the dreaded ''genius'' marker for him.

He is a hell of a guitar player, producer, mixer, drummer, songwriter etc. He's been able to make great albums with 3 bands. And a good solo one smile

He's also been able to produce and arrange for a lot of other artists. His voice isn't like technically amazing. But you can tell when it's him singing though.

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

The words genius and legend apply to him. And I say legend due to the White Stripes work. Had the chance to finally get the full discography and it confirmed what I always knew about Jack: great work from a great artist. Can't wait to cop his new album (in stores) this June.

I think that I should think more about him. Specifically, I should listen to more of his stuff. I get the feeling I would like it, but I never quite remember to cue him up.

A very unique talent in an industry in need of it. He can tell a story in a song like the best of them. He is very respectful of musical history as well. I do not know if you folks have seen the documentary "It Might Get Loud," but you really should. It features White, Jimmy Page from Led Zep, and the Edge, from U2. It really shows their contrast in apporach to the game. You see the Edge constanly tweaking his $300,000 room sized rack effect system, with a full time tech that does nothing but turn knobs for him, and making so litte difference in is negligible. In the meanwhile, Jack White builds a guitar in 2 minutes from a plank of wood, copper wire and a nail. Enjoy me some Jack White.

I don't know about that. His music is quite amazing, but "a good guy" outside of that, I'm sure many people who know him better will doubt. First on that list would be his ex-wife Karen Elson I bet.

nod I recently saw this on YouTube and loved it. I love all three musicians, but only Jack White and Jimmy Page (of course) gave me goosebumps. Lord knows I love me some U2, and I like The Edge but I feel like his sound is always the same in some way, shape or form, while Jack White and Jimmy Page have constantly reinvented their sounds and are way more creative than Edge.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
