Classic album revisited: Depeche Mode "Violator"

This week 24 years ago - back in 1990 - Depeche Mode's "Violator" album was released. What are your thoughts and memories of this album?

Fucking classic album. Absolutely phenomenal, my favorite Depeche record, it's damn near flawless. It has a ridiculous dark and cool sonic quality to it.

The first Depeche Mode album I actually ever heard was "Ultra", but it got me into them enough to check out their older material, when I heard "Violator" that was it, I was officially a huge fan.

My first was Music for the Masses but I agree with you - Violator is a near-perfect album

Black Celebration through Ultra is perfect smile seriously some fucking fantastic albums. Violator gets better and better each year.

Anyone dig the b-sides? or the bonus tracks from the 2006 remaster.

Same here. Wouldn't consider myself a DM fan in general but Violator is absolutely flawless from start to finish.
