Was 50 Cent Worth The hype

Serious question now... was 50 worth all the hype? when i was in 6th, 7th grade he was everywhere. Get Rich Or Die Tryin was fucking huge and everyone wanted to be him. That's also when every other person claimed to have been shot rolleyes

He was always in beefs, always on MTV & BET, and G-Unit was everywhere too. But was he worth the hype? he has some skills... SOME on the mic. And his album before Get Rich was actually pretty decent. But all i saw him fall into was pop/rap right after his first big album. I mean doing nothing but club jams or songs for chicks.

For a dude that had a lot of hype he sure didn't go anywhere with it. He owns vitamin water, did films, and commercials. But really has ANY of of his music been relevant recently? even when he did that album beef with Kanye. I remember Kanye being played everywhere, and none of Curtis Jacksons songs being played. Aside from a hit song here and there where he's a featured guest. What's the last song he did that was a hit? or made an impact?

People talk about him like he made a huge impact on hip-hop. But too me he seems like another star who had some hits and fazzed out quickly.

In all fairness, GRODT was a great album and worth the purchase, he had the G persona down pact. In hindsight and my opinion, that is all he has because I did not buy anything after that. He is a great personality in the music business but has been lapped as an emcee by plenty of guys since GRODT.

I think that is it really. GRODT is a decent album... idk about great but i can stand it. It's the only 50 album i bothered buying and listening to. It just seemed he turned into such a pop rapper after that! doing those LL Cool J style girl songs. And club anthems... the ''thug'' thing got thrown out by the second album.

I used to love him.. I even had the G-unit sneakers lol Looking back he was truly a fad though and his music and image just could not keep up with the times. He was a huge part of my "high school music"most of the artists I liked back then I don't even listen to now.

Without Dr.Dre's beats, Eminem's mentorship, AND Jimmy Iovine's (evil) approval at Interscope/Universial, 50Cent would only be remember as this kid that gotten fired from Sony by Tommy Motolla for writing a rap song about how to rob his then-fellow labelmates (especially Mariah). neutral

Nope.

I never felt his delivery.

Poor image.

He had a couple hits though.

So?

He's not even worth his name. That's why there's no "s" on the end of it.

Andy is a four letter word.

Surely you're not speaking of Billboard award winning artiste and quadruple threat (rapper/actor/model/Vitamin Water pitchman) 50 Cent. His designer water is so street.
