TLC VH1 movie update-Pebbles' 2 interviews (posts 181 & 195) & TLC responds (post 204)

This week T-Boz and Chilli are making the media rounds promoting their upcoming VH1 movie that will air next monday at 9 PM. So far they have appeared on the The Breakfast Club morning radio show and Good Morning America. Later this week they'll also be on The Wendy Williams Show.

.

Listen to The Breakfast Club interview if you want to hear T-Boz and Chilli's thoughts on Pebbles, Lefteye, dating and more. Pebbles, after hearing what was said in that interview, took to twitter to complain and has her lawyers ready. T-Boz even mentioned during the interview that Pebbles would consider suing for defamation and slander if there's something in the VH1 movie that she doesn't like.

.

In checking Pebbles' twitter today, it's clear she still doesn't see things the same way T-Boz and Chilli do. I'm expecting her to give an interview either later this week or next week and she'll probably sue. We know the movie is going to make her look very bad.

Pebbles needs to shut her mouth and sit down rolleyes She can deny it all she wants, but she had these girls signed to a lousy deal that didn't even pay them alot of money. She did them wrong and everything should be revealed in the movie.

I never understand these comments, you hear them a lot in the music industry. Did anybody force TLC to sign the deal? A deal involves 2, after the deal is sealed you can´t say you don´t agree with the deal.

You shouldn´t have signed it in the first place than!

That´s the way it goes in any business, why is in the music industry you hear the artist got a lousy deal?

By the way, i don't think it's a smart move to bring up all the problems TLC went through, it's been 20 years, let it go. They made great music, focus on that and forget about the drama.

Totally agree. The way Pebbles is portrayed it's as if she was the Devil. That's what entertainment lawyers are for, to negotiate on the behalf of their clients.

I really have no idea what happened between Pebbles and TLC, so I have nothing say about that.

But, reading the Twitter comments to Pebbles' tweets makes me realize how casually illogical people really are. People put comments out there as if those comments make perfect sense and shouldn't be scrutinized.

For example:

"Do I need to remind folks about your extensive groundbreaking history BEFORE you put TLC on thee map."

If (for arguments sake) Pebbles indeed did something shady with TLC, would having a groundbreaking history somehow absolve her? No.

"I don't care what anyone says, you are a BIG reason why TLC is who they are today."

Um, okay. There's never been managers, agents, record execs who were a BIG part of an artist's success but ALSO ripped them off?

"Let them know that when they mess with you, they are messing with GOD at the same time."

Really, Pebbles is "The Chosen One", God's personal conduit, and any questioning of her dealings is messing with God? Must be nice. Lol.

I think Pebbles is a very intense, interesting woman. Her ego is still out of control though. If you listen to this uncut interview she gave last year, you can hear how Pebbles thinks quite highly of herself. She also was/is a very cutthroat businesswoman. Whether it's casually talking about how they just dropped the original third girl (Crystal) from TLC or stealing "Girlfriend" from Vanessa Williams, it doesn't surprise me that Pebbles had a stranglehold on TLC both financially and creatively:

They knew what they were signing. If they didn't they should have had an adult or parent read it to them before grabbing a pen.

I don't know what went down with her and TLC but just from talking with a friend of mine

who was in the industry back then as a musician told me that she was difficult to work with.

I will always have Pebbles's back and not just because she's fine as all get out! She saw where the real money was, so she used her temporary fame to get behind the scenes. I've always found it funny that she's vilified in a way that even Berry Gordy isn't.

I'm a let some steam off here, cause a lot what is going down is pure and utter BS. First of all, that guy, LAW, who is the son of someone that was in PFUNK-not sure who-anyway, he thinks of himself as some legend in the making, who is always trying to ride someone's coattails. If you check, he is on the Twitters of anyone and everyone from back in the day blowing smoke up their asses and trying to blow himself up. Therefore, him calling Pebbles "groundbreaking" is nothing but kiss ass. He needs to sit his wannabe ass down somewhere. I have seen him on so many people's twitters kissing ass it's not even funny.

Secondly, I have loved TLC from day one and will defend them to the utmost. Pebbles has NO case. This is one of those rare cases where it is def black and white. Everybody and their crack head mama knows that Pebbles did those girls wrong. Yeah, they didn't have to sign that contract, but you best believe Pebbles would have had their asses black listed in the industry, probably like she did to that Crystal girl. Whatever happened to her?

Thirdly, Pebbles does not have a good reputation, never has. I am a fan of her music, but as a person, she has never come off too well. She comes off as hard and cold and a straight up Mafia don. I remember her once saying that damn right, she was strict re that contract cause she knew if TLC could break her contract, they could break anyone's. And I am pretty sure it was in that behind the music ep, but for some reason when they just reaired it on VH1, those comments aren't in there.

Fourthly, about a year or maybe two years ago, there was a pic of Chili with Pebbles looking all cozy-I think it was on Pebb's Twitter-and I think it was posted here at the org. Chili to me has always seemed more of a peacemaker type, whereas TBoz is not having it and will tell you straight up-which I happen to love about her.

As far as lawyering up, I do know that last year or maybe this year, Pebbs married entertainment lawyer Excel Sharieff and he is no joke.

But lastly and let me say this: Pebbles loses in the court of public opinion. This is not Destiny's Child or En Vogue. People LOVE TLC-they are a beloved act-they are just a rare act that everyone loved and no one hated on. To this day, there is an overwhelming love for them. Pebbles is fucking wit the wrong ones.

TLC appeared on The Wendy Williams Show today along with the 3 girls playing TLC in the movie. Of course Wendy was obsessed with talking about Pebbles lol She has already seen the movie and loved it except she wished they got more into how awful Pebbles is lol Basically T-Boz and Chilli repeated a bit of what they said in The Breakfast Club interview from earlier in the week and that again, it's not slander as it's both truth and their interpretation of what happened.

Meanwhile, today Pebbles was back on twitter again and posted a proverb from the Amplified Bible that obviously has to do with her feelings regarding T-Boz and Chilli:

Well said clapping Pebbles seems like a very shady person....a vicious,power-hungry woman. She also seems very quick to sue people...lol...I remember in the mid-90s,she filed a $10 million lawsuit against LA and Babyface, acting like she was a victim that they took advantage of (rolling my eyes).

I liked the movie....it kind of gave me everything I needed lol.

Jabar-who do you think should have played TLC?

Pebbles is getting destroyed by black twitter tonight. lawd lol If you do a search with her name on twitter, you will find all kinds of mess. So far she and LA Reid have been quiet but I expect we'll hear from them during the week. Pebbles' son simply said he didn't like how his mother was portrayed in the movie. Pebbles' daughter Ashley, on the other hand, is a whole other matter. She's currently going at it with her mother's "haters".

BTW for those of you wondering what happened to the original third TLC member, she is alive and well. She is on twitter too @CrystalSelene . She posted an old article of when she was in TLC and plans to write a tell-all of her brief time in the group.

As I've mentioned in an old thread about this biopic:

Eve as Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins

Raven-Symone as Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes

Keisha Knight-Pulliam as Rozonda "Cilli" Thomas

TLC had a lawyer he was Pebbles lawyer as well.(LOL) Pebbles also turned down endoresement deals with Coke and other companies. She was incompentent as a manager. These girls did not even make any money went they went out on tour.

I think Dallas Austin and Andre Rison should protest their bad casting. Was that Diana Ross's kid... I mean really. Were there no other actors who wanted these parts?
