Jimmy Kimmel Interviews Kanye West

I just watched last night's show with Jimmy Kimmel interviewing Kanye West after their online spat.

It kinda took my by surprise. Partly because I've never heard Kanye talk that much. But mostly because he really made sense. He came off as an intelligent person who in all honesty told people where he's coming from and why he acts the way he does. He sounded totally self-aware. Anyone else who saw it? What do you think?

.

Here's a small part of it:

I just watched it. Saying things like "I'm a genius" doesn't help me like him any better haha. He def needs to be brought down to earth in some way.

What I don't get about him, is why the hell does he give a shit about what other people say about him? He seems to constantly be getting worked up about others opinion of him. He needs to cease taking notice of anything in the media about himself.

Kanye, you've won several Grammy Awards, had multiple number 1 records and you let any old douche bag make you upset? What you worrying about?

lol

I think he's really too insecure to not give a crap. Putting himself up on a pedestal gives him confidence, somehow. If you tell yourself over and over again how great you are, you will eventually belive it. Which can be a great thing. Even if it annoys the hell out of people. lol

That's funny. I'm seeing rapid speech, delusions of grandeur, flight of ideas, and signs of schizophrenia.

This man needs help.

After that Genius & Walk Of Fame disaster I could not take him seriously. I turned it off. Never was a fan of his anyways. Such a cry baby.

That was my impression as well. Like some form of mental illness was on display.

He thinks he is a creative genius. He doesn't say that you have to think that about him also. I admire him for being honest about his opinions.

Well we're all just stating our opinions including Kanye. Do we all have to start writing disclaimers after every statement saying how it's just our opinion and others who read it don't have to think the same thing?

This was a stunt to get people to buy tickets to his shows because his shows haven't sold out and only half have bought tickets.

Kanye West ('s promotional tour for his new album and tour) went on Jimmy Kimmel's show after his Tweety fued and his Clear Channel payola daddy insulted Kimmel. Woopity doo.

I was thinking about this earlier, how "reality" shows are now about celebrities being celebrities. Sort of like how I Love Lucy (also owned by Universal) was about Desi Arnaz's singing career but he was Ricky Ricardo. I saw that Khloe Kardashian was being consoled by her "close friend" The Game ('s promotional tour for his new album) on TMZ the other day.

Island Def Jam is owned by Universal. E! Network is owned by Universal. Kanye West is owned by Universal. The Kardashians TM is owned by Universal. The Game is owned by Universal. This is marketing/PR brilliance and some folks are hooked line and stinker.

Universal, WB, Disney, and Clear Channel have some serious voodoo going. Is a paid slave just a whore or an idiot? Are idiots mentally disturbed? It gets confusing when there is so much money involved.

Well, has showbiz ever really been about reality? No. Back in the old days actors and musicians were by the studios made into godlike creatures for us to look up to. Then things shifted and the media was supposed to show how these people "really" were, because people were tired of the glittery facade. But what the media started to show, and still does show, is just a fraction of reality. A part that sometimes is staged. Or perhaps very often so. It's showbiz. Why do we expect that everything has to be real? Well, the answer to that is probably because it affects us and how we view our lives. But it's still showbiz, there to entertain us.

He thinks Kim K. deserves a star on the Walk of Fame? confused

Yeah, he's mental. bored2

No, I don't think he is a genius. That word is overused. I think he is just OKAY as a rapper, and that's being generous. He's no KRS-1, Rakim, Wise Intelligent, or anything close. His flow can be, and has been choppy. Yeah, I said it. That's why Jay Z didn't want to sign him in the first place. Dame Dash had to put him on. He knows it too, and even said that's why he felt guilty for siding with Jay and not Dame after the Roc split. He's annoying. How can you be the greatest rapper when you're not even good? Please.

I thought he conducted himself in a cool, calm manor. Yes, the shit about Kim K needing a star is lol lol and he is full of himself. But he said some pretty real things about people who are creative and society trying to make them seen like un-social or weird.

But, for those who think he has always been this crazy. Check out this diary he did in 2004 when his mom was still alove (And in the video as well) He comes across as very chill and he shows some of his art works and other things. Dude isn't lying about going to art school or being creative.

He even walks in the mall and lets dozens of people get their autographs signed. It's clear he used to be a bit more humble... nowadays lol

Good point about the creative stuff.
.
I gotta say it's pretty silly that he says things like how he's a genius etc and other things that seem kind of arrogantly outrageous, but at the same time, totally can't handle getting mocked. Dude, if getting mocked makes you upset, don't say things like "I'm a genius" on TV. That's mock material gold.

To the first poster, glad you liked it though I'm not sure why people get surprised when Kanye is "intelligent" they just weren't listening to him to begin with or they would have known that already. They assume he's unintelligent as well, because he makes headlines for saying one or two things that get him attention, without knowing the whole story and context behind saying those things.

One things for sure Kim will never get "BORED". Just probably feed up with his narscissism.

Cuz when the party of life always begins and ends with you. Peeps will eventually get tired of the same ol same ol and leave your ass unfulfilled.

But you can always have new peeps join you and keep your YOU universe going. Just dont think about YOU ending up playing with yourself in the end.

I do have a love for Kanye. And so glad for his sake that he had a daughter. Just wait another 13 years when she wants to date. Kanye will see his real crazy! mad fishslap

Really? He has sold over 30 million albums and over 78 million digital tracks worldwide. Over the course of his career, he has had six consecutive #1 albums and seven #1 singles. His Oct 26th an 28th shows at Staple Center have sold out. Kendrick Lemar is the opening act and I'm bummed out that I can't get tickets. Their still available in Vegas though. wink My bad I forgot this was about his personal life and not his creative merit. So carry on with the lame and pointless gossip.

He is self-obsessed, as Duran Duran said in their track "Networker Nation" "the self obsessed age" that is what this generation is, EVERYONE thinks they are a star and important and their "word" matters because they posted it on a blog or a forum. Kanye is talented, and creates interesting stuff, not what im into but i respect that side, but where he loses the cred is when he opens his mouth because he totally is doing it for promotional reasons, to attract the attention to him, where he could be doing that with his "creative" work he doesnt, he makes no attempt to even do it. TO BE HONEST i seriously dont know how Jimmy Kimmel who i am so NOT a fan of anyway i think he is the worst host in history, but i dont know how he didnt bust out laughing at the KIM KARDASHIAN getting a star on the walk of fame. Sorry Kanye i know its your wife and she needs you to speak for her, but I cant see her getting a star next to the likes of Jackie Gleason and Johnny Carson, i mean are you freaking serious, granted there are probably those that shouldnt have it, but saying she deserves it for her "reality" scripted tv bullshit, stop smoking crack kanye, seriously. If it was the ASS walk of fame maybe she gets one.

And another thing that bothers me is he pretty much said he cares about family kids his work not once thanked the people that elevated him from that dude that had nothing to now having this voice in the public, totally self obsessed, beyond the typical self obsessed loon. And as it was said if you want to be seperate and not a ZOO ANIMAL dont act like one, plain and simple, yes people are cruel and post shit online just to start shit, but you ask for it plain and simple, stop im the whole act that you are being terrorized, the media made you son.
