INTERVIEWS: TLC Appear on "GMA" And Perform A Medley Of Hits + Dish On "Crazy Sexy Cool" With "The Breakfast Club"

photo chillitboz.png

TLC made several promotional appearances today for the release of "20", their greatest hits album, and "Crazy Sexy Cool" their upcoming VH1 biopic. Watch the interviews and see their "GMA" performance inside....

Earlier today, T-Boz and Chilli appeared on GMA to promote the release of a new greatest hits album "20", which hits stores today, and their biopic, Crazy Sexy Cool, which air on VH1 on October 21.

The ladies talked to Robin Roberts and were joined by the film's stars Lil Mama, Drew Sidora and Keke Palmer. They praised the ladies for their realistic portrayal of TLC and later hit the stage to perform a few of their classic songs.

Watch TLC perform a medley of hits here:

In other TLC interviews....

TLC also appeared on Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club where they discussed their VH1 biopic. Though they didn't give away too many movie deets (they want us to tune in!), there were a few shockers. When talking about their money woes, they revealed that the record label (and Pebbles) gave them vehicles to celebrate their platinum success. What kind of cars? Chilli says she got a Honda Prelude and T-Boz and Left Eye both got Pathfinders!

Also, DJ Envy, Charlamagne and Angela Yee all agreed that Pebbles won't win any fans or supporters once the film airs. When asked if the movie was exaggerated, T-Boz said that Pebbles was MORE of a monster than what we saw. Charlamagne asked Chilli why she never "cut" Pebbles, and she joked, "I just don't want to go to jail. I have a son to raise!"

Chilli and T-Boz also shared why they have remained in the business for 20 years. Chilli said, "It's our dream. Most people go through those kinds of things and at the end of the day you just wanna work really hard.....so you have the power to change those kinds of things." T-Boz added, "And learn. You want to learn from your mistakes....we've been here 20 years. You need to learn along the way and soak up all the information you can. That would be stupid to be our age and still going through the same things. That's not hot."

Crazy Sexy Cool airs on VH1 on October 21 at 9/8C.

So this new song is 'Album Only' on Amazon and iTunes.......you'd think if they wanted to make a bit of a comeback that they wouldn't roll it out with a marketing ploy that went out in the 90's, especially considering that they only have 3 albums (not counting 3D for relevancy purposes) that pretty much anyone that would be interested in the new track already has. How is Neyo supposed to get his money?

Sales of TLC's '20' Surge by 200%, Could Hit Top 20 on Billboard 200

TLC's new greatest hits album "20" is set to fly into the top 20 of the Billboard 200 chart next week.

Industry sources say the set might sell around 15,000 to 20,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Oct. 27. That could represent at least a 200% gain over last week's sales, when it debuted at No. 72 with 5,000 sold (according to Nielsen SoundScan).

The gain was triggered by VH1's premiere of its biopic "CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story" on Oct. 21. Its bow scored nearly 4.5 million viewers, according to Nielsen, making it VH1's highest-rated original movie ever.

According to VH1, "CrazySexyCool" is also the No. 1 original cable movie of the year among adults and women 18-49. It also logged a 2.9 rating in the 18-49 demo.

"20" was released on Tuesday, Oct. 15, and features 13 previously-released hits, along with one new song, "Meant to Be." The act was last in the top 20 with 2002's "3D" album, which debuted and peaked at No. 6 on the Nov. 30, 2012 chart.

I'm a wait for the new single to be released! I have all their classics already. Making "M2B" an album cut only has that snake LA Reid written all over it! He still hasn't changed. Maybe Prince should send him more "Slave" emails for ripping tlc off with his co- owned Pepitone company.

To be fair, the movie was on a Monday night, so it was a safe bet to have the CD in stores the Tuesday prior. I got 20, and the promo sticker on the cellophane said it was music from VH1's Film CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story. Some stores in my city didn't even order copies of 20 until after the movie was shown.

I just wish they put this on VINYL! Do you know how difficult it is to get TLC LP's on vinyl? Only the 12" singles seem to be abundant.
