Frank Sinatra / "Duets" 20th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition 6-disc box set

20th Anniversary Edition 180g Double LP, 2CD, DVD Box Set!
Remastered & Housed In 12" x 12" Box With Gold Foil-Stamped Title!

Frank Sinatra's groundbreaking and highly successful album, Duets, was originally released in 1993 and was referred to as "The Recording Event of the Decade." Certified 3x-platinum, Duets brought together an array of global superstars including Charles Aznavour, Anita Baker, Tony Bennett, Bono, Natalie Cole, Gloria Estefan, Aretha Franklin, Kenny G, Julio Iglesias, Liza Minnelli, Carly Simon, Barbra Streisand and Luther Vandross for an album of standards including many songs instantly associated with the "Chairman of the Board". Duets made history for its cutting-edge recording techniques, its renowned stars and for being one of the top selling albums of 1993 putting the then 77-year old Sinatra at the No. 2 spot on the Billboard charts between Pearl Jam's Vs. and Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell II.

The highly successful follow-up Duets II, was released the following year. Duets II includes Jimmy Buffett, Neil Diamond, Lena Horne, Chrissie Hynde, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Patti LaBelle, Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme, Luis Miguel, Lorrie Morgan, Willie Nelson, Linda Ronstadt, Jon Secada, Frank Sinatra, Jr., and Stevie Wonder & Gladys Knight. Once again, Sinatra celebrated a top ten record with Duets II charting at No. 9 on Billboard's Top 200 Chart.

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of this groundbreaking, multi-platinum selling album, Capitol/UMe releases this newly remastered Super Deluxe Box Set bringing together the original Duets and the follow-up, Duets II, in one package. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

A word on warning for those of you not familiar with the company, Vinyl Masterpieces typically uses vinyl rips. Especially when it comes to albums owned by Universal Music Group (which the Randy Hall album does). They seem to use master tapes when it comes to some of the Sony products (i.e., Melba Moore's "Closer" and The Emotions "New Affair") but those are the rare exceptions and not the general rule with this particular company. Since there are no signs of Universal releasing the title as a Japan import, I am ordering the Commodores "Movin' On". Listening to the samples on the website, I can tell it's a vinly rip but doesn't sound like a bad one. But, I guess I will see because I thought the same about Jean Carn's "Trust Me" only to put it in my CD player and it sounded horrible!

^ thanks for the info/warning

I still might most likely get it, I have this Keni Burke CD which is obviously a vinyl rip with much static noises on some tracks confused but nowadays it's pretty rare so what.. I say, get it while you can smile
