Despite the fact that all my friends take the piss out of Bruno Mars, I've always liked him. And this clip is AWESOME! If there was a proshot version of this medley, I would have it on my iPhone in a heartbeat smile

B.S. he knows how to write songs with good hooks and has mastered many different styles. He is also a great live performer. He reminds me of Prince and if he keeps his head on straight he is going to be around a long time.

It's hard to swallow, ain't it biggrin? I mean, after all, Bruno is getting the props he deserves and he's being regarded as one of the best by music experts... You don't like him, nobody gives a crap about that... And speaking of testosterone, have u got any idea about how much ovaries r getting exploded each night Bruno performs at each city in each state of the US?

Bruno Mars Performs Incredible Mashup At Staples Center

This past weekend we had the opportunity to attend Bruno Mars’ concert at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. Oh what a treat that was.

Aside from his impeccable vocals, dancing, band, and personality, there was one particular performance that stood out. He did an incredible mashup of songs from the 70s to the present. Blending the old school with the new, executing it effortlessly with perfection. Mashing up songs he wrote himself with covers from other artists.

It started with those 4 words from Prince…"you sexy mutha fucka." Yes Bruno, that you are.

Then it quickly transitioned into James Brown’s “Sex Machine." Then came the song everyone has been waiting for him to perform during the tour …"Money Make Her Smile" lyrics performed against what seemed to be the “Sex Machine" instrumentals. What?!

Then throw in a little hint of Rick James’ “Super Freak" to compliment the lyrics that say “she’s a super freak" in “Money Make Her Smile."

Then he does the unthinkable …transitions into a rap song from today’s era backed by the 70s funk instrumentals. Trinidad James’ “All Gold Everything" never sounded funkier. If you’re not a true hip hop head it might have even gone unnoticed. Especially the horn section spitting bars from the song with a funk flare, “this ain’t for no f#@k ni#@a if you a real ni#@a then f#@k with me / this one for the hood ni#@as hipster bitches that shop at Lenox / dark skinned, light skinned, asian and white women / hypebeasts we know about don’t buy shoes unless they popular." The infusion of soul that he put into a rap song …genius.

Parts of the horn section were reminiscent of Average White Band’s “Pick Up The Pieces" mixed with some Kool & The Gang flavor. Regardless, this amazing mashup deserves praise for the sheer creativity and musicality.

"Pop a molly I’m sweatin woo!"

Oh please. MJ and Prince were both recognised as geniuses even back in the 80s. Bruno Mars should not even be uttered in the same sentence.

Are people really that desperate to fill the void of MJ that they'll praise such dumbed down mediocrity? It's amazing how standards have slipped.

In his song "Show Me" in recent concerts he's been singing the begining of the song in a regagetone accent. I'm not sure if you heard. A fan took off the bra she was wearing and threw it up on stage, while Bruno and the gang were in the middle of their R & B poses to a lucky fan. It totally shocked them and they literally started laughing, they could barely finish the bit. Then once they got their composure back Bruno ran with it and sang"You better runaway, throw your bras and your panties on the stage" lol The viedo is on youtube but I still don't know how to upload the videos. But it is hilarious to watch. So check it out. cool

Stop thinking about his sweet little songs he wote earlier. His new album really shows his range and has shocked people by just how well it's done. If you were to attend his concert live. You would understand. His third is going to be his best yet. He studied the greats and honors their music in his own . He has always stated the he doesn't want to be Mj or Prince, he wants to be the 1st Bruno Mars. He's headed for serious greatness.Don't believe me just watch!

I think you will find there is NOTHING "drippy" about any of those songs. Also if you were willing to attend one concert you would see what the hoopla about him is all about.

Especially those who attended his concert left with a different attitude. Before bashing someone why don't YOU see for yourself and then talk all the mess. But until then you reall can't speak on what you really have no idea about!

Well I didnt go see him in LA and didnt write the review but I sure wish I did! lol Livemusictrax posted this review on their blog and uploaded that video footage to Youtube. You're so lucky you get to go see him for a THIRD time! excited But that mashup he did just proves that he really has a golden ear for music-he's got great musicality and creativity! He basically created a new song out of his song and other's songs!
