He re-joined Kool and the Gang in 1996 for a new album and a reunion tour,but by the late 90s,he was out of the band again.I'd love to see them reunite,one more time.

He is still performing an has released several solo projects since leaving The Gang both times.

That was horrible. He should be shot.

It's a shame that his solo career didn't really take off.But it goes to show that,there are some singers who are just meant to be part of a band and not a solo act.Not everybody can do the 'solo superstar' thing.

He went solo in the New Jack Swing/hip hop era in the early 1990's. The popularity of many R&B singers/bands of JT's era was fading off. Boyz II Men/Color Me Badd/Jade/Mary J. Blige/Jodeci/Al B. Sure! were taking over their spot.

I never even knew there was a music video for this song. Meli'sa should have been in the video.

Kool & the Gang might be the worst band now, ive never seen a band basically forget their past, have all new singers & RAPPERS? Rap & Kool & the Gang dont mix!

I got a recent dvd from them for my mom & wow did it suck, 70% of the band wasnt the band from the past - maybe a horn player & bass player, but damn they tried to modernize it, it was horrible... the audience is all old people in the 50's & 60's.. they are trying to get away from their kids rap, they dont want to hear that shit mixed in with their memories, lol

Kool & the Gang is 1975-1981 basically. JT Taylor is their only singer & the only era to think of that band. He's been in & out of that band so many times & no one cares?

JT & Donnie Simpson can be brothers. Always thought they look alike.

I saw this show in Toronto. Kool and the Gang were pretty good. It was fun hearing all their old songs.

One of their most underrated songs.

As a kid I was a fan of his debut solo single, "Long Hot Summer Night." I've always thought of it as something of a poor man's "Sensitivity."

Of course, it doesn't hold a candle to his Kool stuff.

I believe after Long Summer Night he had one called 8 days a week i kind

of liked. None of his solo songs were anything to write home about but if i

had to pick a favorite it would be Sista Rosa.

I've always loved that trombone solo in "Joanna."

I was lucky to see them in the 90's and boy did JT sound great. One of R&B's best vocalist imho.
