Do Dead Rockstars Watch Over Fans? (Serious discussion welcome)

So I was hanging out with my friend last night and I asked him a question - "Do you think rockstars or rappers who have passed away, watch over their fans?" He kinda looked at me like this: confused

I pressed the issue and gave him a for instance - I said, "Suppose a fan of 2Pac listened to his music a lot, read books about him, etc. Do you think that 2Pac might watch over them?" While this sounds like a silly question, I mean it 100% to be taken seriously.

I suppose on some deeper level - people's answers might depend on where they stand on the whole, "Do people that have passed on watch over the living?"

Another reason I bring this up is because, once a medium told me that I had a spirit guide watching over me, who was some kind of writer, poet, or songwriter. I always found that fascinating.

I would love to hear people's thoughts.

If there is an afterlife I would hope it involves more interesting things than watching over the living.

If he does then yes.... kind of... Richard Marx watches over his non-fans.

I never heard anyone say this before. How can one even think this? No offense to anyone but I think maybe it's because overly dedicated fandom eventually leads one to think that they deserve something back from the artist. Sorry just my opinion... Especially if we're talking about MJ. His entire freaking career was about the fans....I hope he's finally at peace and if he's watching over ANYONE on earth I'm sure it's his children and the ones he truly loved and cared for, not to say he didn't love his fans but come on now....

I don't believe in this, as comforting as it feels to hear it. hug

But I have heard that Liberace watches over Debbie Gibson, so there's that. smile

nod

I'm sort of agnostic, but really... regardless of your stance on that one, artists don't owe anything to their fans. As Donna Summer once said, "I sold a record, but I didn't sell my soul."

I would think he's watching over his family too if anyone, even if I have heard of fans getting signs and such too.
