I miss Teedra Moses, I think she had a baby after Complex Simplcity. There are a lot of artists who should've blown up that didn't.

Heather Headley

Sylenna Johnson

Conya Doss

Jaheim

Van Hunt

Leela James

laura izibor

Vivian Green

Truth Hurts

Janelle Monae (Work in progress)

I like this. It's like a list of why everyone's pop favorite is overrated.

Jaheim is awful, nothing to him. I have no idea who Conya Doss is, but that name alone might be why she never blew up. Leela is scary with all that damn hair.

Vivian Green and Heather Headley are interchangeable to me and I never get why people feel so much love for Jazmine Sullivan

Management and minimal label support are to blame more than anything probably as to why these acts didn't "blow up"...

Yep and industry politics and timing and maybe not having the right look.

I loved Jazmine Sullivan's last album, but I never got into her earlier ones.

Heather and Vivian are attractive women, Vivian is exactly gorgeous and Jaheim is sexy as hell so looks dont have nothing to do with it.

I think what Jaheim's problem was when he first debut his record label tried to push a thug image and made him sing thug music. Big mistake when you have a soulful 70s voice like Jaheims. Glad he now makes grown folks music and caters to the 35 and older crowd. The boy can sanggg nothing awful about him.

Heather has KILLER vocals as well as Vivian and they have strong R&B songs... I think its label backing and promotion.

Teedra Moses and Res are 2 artists that should have blown up. Res' record label did not know how to market her because she was not an R&B/Hip-Hop artist. I'm not sure what's going on with Teedra. Apparently she is signed to Maybach Records(Rick Ross' label I think).

Teedra recently performed a new song and I fell in love with it from the first time I heard it. I hope it gets released.

Janelle Monae needs to blow up ASAP! Shes far more interesting than these other female wannabees out now.

I think it's a shame Nikka never blew up. I like Amerie, but I am not surprised she didn't blow up.

Co-sign. AZ's "Doe or Die" album is a classic masterpiece. nod I can listen to it now and it will take me directly back to '95.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Absolutely. Hopefully her next album gets a push from her "We Are Young" association. I'm tired of getting "Janelle who?" if she comes to your town, go see her - the real deal.

I don't get why terence trent d'arby's music after his debut is widely considered irrelevant when a lot of it is really great...I mean songs like Delicate and Let her down easy should have been hits easily

Leigh Jones

Mayer Hawthorne

Sharon Jones

Goapele--a crime that she never be blew up. She is mainly a regional artist you would have to be deep into R&B to know about her.

I don't like Janelle Monae. She's herky-jerky, not funky.
